5 feels like way too many!! It feels like they barely get time to work on stuff due to the update schedule and so things are added as unfinished and almost working but never quite the way it “should” be
I am skeptical the next event vehicle’s gonna be a ground vehicle … since still grinding for that Boxer … imho, next event vehicle likley to be a plane.
Gaijin mentioned they wont do ground or air or naval vehicles back to back for events.
There are 44 tech trees across 10 nations, as of now… there’s plenity of hundreds of vehicles left across all eras between 1905 and 2024 to add for a long while, and that’s without counting new nations and subtrees, hahah.
And again, even then; Naval is still barebones with only 1 fast Battleship since 2021 which still faces Jutland ships due to compression due to lack of said BBs, there hasn’t been one MBT over the span of nearly a year…
From my point of view, development appears stuck on nearly everything that isn’t Top Tier planes.
I mean yeah, plenty, but it becomes less plenty when they focus on modernish (like they are) and modern countries use like the same 7 things just slightly different
If they did a WW2 focused update I’m sure it would be great
Also the naval thing is like the prime example of “adding things without thinking” that I was talking about. I mean come on, seriously, a tail-end of super dreadnought era ship when some countries don’t even have a proper top tier??
5 Majors, regardless of amount of content.
You have to keep in mind they often have these updates planned well in advance. They no doubt have an interesting December update in the works.
I also believe they do 5 a year to help maintain interest and spotlight on the game throughout the year.
moo deng
Thai reference?
I have no idea.
He maybe will post an updated version. But i don’t recall him deleting what so ever after updating some previous leaks
I’m sure they do, I just think its… not really the best for a game cycle. You know? Overworking and underdeveloping due to tight deadlines and cutoffs to “add this thing now” gets worse and worse over time…
I hate this running to the modern day as fast as possible. This has only led to a number of issues, millions of vehicles skipped, and people not even wanting to entertain the idea of new TT due to their MBT in use.
I mean… WW2 is something that’s already quite fleshed out already.
What is there left? More KV-1 variants? More BF-109s? StuG IV AKA slightly different looking STUG III…?
War Thunder has been adding new content for 10 years, 5 of which were WW2/Postwar-exclusive; it’s no wonder there’s so much content already in.
Well, some of us simply are MBT enthusiasts whose’s 90% of the reason to play the game is MBTs, so naturally we focus our grind on trees that have MBTs that we would like to play with.
More SPGS, Wespe and co?
More Pz IIIs (G and H)
More Unique stuff like Pz IV Ausf.D mit 5 cm Pak 38
And such.
See what I mean? People mock modern fans for “asking for yet another Leopard”, meanwhile WW2 fans are asking for yet another Pz III.
At the end of the day, it’s just personal preference towards an era or another.
Yes but this is the exact type of “just adding things without thinking” that I’m talking about.
Like, add something that works and that people want instead of trying to add a new flashy thing every single time that is big for like 1 month and then dies (hot tracks and digging), or is meta-defining/ruining in a bad way (pantsir), you know?
10 years of content is a lot of stuff, but after a while there’s no thought put into what is being added because the expectation is to keep adding things
Let’s not forget the countless subvariants of vehicles similar to Spitfires and the like in the modern day. I don’t doubt theres enough content for years.
Doesn’t the su34 has a PESA radar? Edit: it does :D
And this is less than a quarter of Canada’s ground stuff. This list would be 100x longer if we went into other nations not in WT(don’t have a home), not to mention the families on vehicles missing from the nations in-game.
Exactly!
wish Gaijin took it slowly … it all started with M60 launching before M48 and T-62 before T-55 … then they just speedran to modern day.
Missing so many Cold War vehicles and even some WW2 vehicles.
I am surprised that we are getting the F-15E this early, though I guess it does line up with the other aircraft added. It will be interesting to see if Gaijin models the fact that both the pilot and the WSO can fly the plane, as both have flight controls.
