I have a 2070 equivalent card and I get a 60FPS advantage from DX12
it’d be weird if a much more powerful card performs worse

Yep!
On my regular client, I have everything on Ultra (except for SSAA) and I get 100-200 FPS, averating 140-185.
However, on the Dev Server, with TSR + Ray Tracing (all) on max, I can’t even go past 40 FPS.
I really, really hope it’s just something wrong with the disk I’ve got the Dev client installed on, or a Dev Server shenanigan.
Odd, I saw not much improvement from maxed graphics. Wonder if it is Linux client differences.
Is it possible that the disk the client is installed on has an impact on FPS?
I have the main client installed on my primary disk, an M2 I got a couple of years ago, while the Dev client is installed on a 5 year old SSD I otherwise use only for storage.
no it’s RTX thats killing your performance
turn it off and you’ll have the same FPS improvements as everyone esle
there is nothing wrong with your system, and neither with Gaijins implementation of it
Interestingly though, disabling RTX and replacing TSR with TAA (the AA option I have on the Live server), I still only reach 80 FPS on the dev server… while using the same settings that allow me reach 200 FPS on the live client.
do you run DX 11 or DX 12?
either way, ask tech support, this doesn’t fit here
12, I will now try running the Dev server on 11 and see if I get the live client’s FPS.
EDIT: yep. 145 FPS now.
Basically:
Live, DX11: 145-200 FPS.
Dev, DX11: 145-200 FPS.
Dev, DX12: 80-90 FPS.
Dev, DX12 + Ray Tracing: 35-40 FPS.
I am genuinely disappointed… I thought an RTX 3060 would be enough to run Ray Tracing…
EDIT 2: now, after restarting and resetting everything, I’m getting 50-60 FPS with Ray Tracing on Ultra. I have no idea what’s going on xd.
Most likely devs are just figuring out DX12, so its optimalization is non existant, and there are some quirks.
I really hope this is the case!
I am now getting 55-60 FPS, after restarting and resetting it all, for some reason.
I hope that, by the time the update is released, it’s further optimized and the FPS don’t go below 100! Or, at very least, ensure stable 60-80 FPS without drops.
Right??? PLEASE GUYS
but then why am I getting a better performance from DX12?
the Quadro drivers surely can’t be the reason
Funny ur getting more frames on dev with DX11, almost as if DX11 can’t do RT…
Hmm
What would be your specs?
Mine are:
RTX 3060
Ryzen 7 5800X
16 GB RAM
M2 drive (old SSD on Dev client)
I thought this would be enough to run Ray Tracing, but I am disappointed to see this…
To benefit from Ray tracing you really have to disable super sampling anti aliasing or it is impossible to play without SSAA because otherwise the game is all blurry. Also for a reason that escapes me ray tracing removes all the shadows from the grass like here, the first is without ray tracing, the second with.
Probably cuz that much grass shadows = KILL
hey i’m wondering if we will be seeing the F104’s wingtip fuel tanks anytime soon?
Never trust a snail. They tend to bite if given the chance.
Di already has its successor (JAS39A and JAS39C) unlike F.3 late, so when that comes for UK you’ll probably get you F.3’s foldered too
Sweden still can get at least 2 Gripen E’s.
Early E (basically intermediate model from C) old small wing, no IRST, early AESA radar or no AESA at all;
standard E with IRST, still old wing, new production radar;
(additionally) new one with large wing which can come with better weaponry too.
