Major Update “Firebirds” — DEV Server Changelog (25.10.2024) - Dev Server is closed

A message to the devs: we hear your silence on the by far most popular forum poll right now. The F-15E deserves the PW 229 engine. 88% of people, almost 1000 votes says so.

You have been giving this poll the silent treatment, you’re posting updates without addressing it. YOU HAVE TO ADDRESS THIS. It is the largest complaint you have received and you have to say something about it.

Why can’t people care that much about non top tier stuff, it’s extremely annoying.

Why isn’t the largest complaint about the RWR changes, which affect a ton of planes instead of just a single plane.

You don’t even know lmao, the Flanker is 72 feet long and the B-17 is 74. That’s some real perspective.

the player’s opinions aren’t always the most balanced way to make the game

Neither are gaijins.

new gbu-54b will stay like gbu-38 or like new paveway 4 with capabilities to laser guide?

Give me mode 3 Brimstones 😜

why not 9?

So not only does Gripen not receive gbu 39s, on top of that they’re taking a hachet to the rwr for laughs?

Can’t access dev server. “Connection error: 81110013 Failed to load player profile”.

Okay I thought I was the only one having this problem. The MAWS on the new GR.4 kept crashing my dev client every time its triggered.

  1. Long await premium Viggen. First (inevitable) Rank 8 premium going to a minor/smaller nation instead of the big three. Big win.
  1. Of course the new Russian helicopter is getting an AESA radar that’s “broken” now but won’t stay that way for long.
  2. Patriot Missile system in trailer was just a trailer gimmick despite the Rolands guarding airfields are wildly ineffective these days and has been for a while now.
  3. No ARMs/HARMs yet.
  4. With how the F-15Es are being implemented in such Frankenstein manners, all the hype for F/A-18s is just gone. You would honestly just be better off playing DCS really if this is the way they’ll do it.
  5. Gaijin basically demanding they want classified documents in order to reverse the RWR nerfs.

So 229 engines on F-15I for israel which isn’t usually on both sides for air rb matches is the most balanced solution?

It’s just depressing at this point honestly

Because it is a matter of personal preference.

In my case, there’s like 7 non-12.0 lineups in total that I enjoy playing, and pretty much no plane at all (I don’t like the gameplay cycle of non-Top Tier Air RB, which consists of climbing for 10 minutes only to be killed by someone who managed to outclimb you).

If the majority of us play and care about Top Tier (aka modern vehicles) the most, what are we suppossed to do about it? Go back and dedicate our focus to the lower tiers which we generally don’t play or care about?

People should just accept that modern era vehicles have gathered the interest of a very large majority of players. We may just find it more appealing, interesting, fun, or whatever… it’s just personal preference.

I don’t know why every few days there’s gotta be berating comments and posts against Top Tier as if focus on it was detrimental to lower ones and had a negative impact on the game.

Just for the fun of it, these are the only non-12.0 lineups I enjoy playing once in a while:

Russia: 4.0, 5.3, 8.7, 9.3, 10.7
Germany: 4.0, 5.7, 6.0, 9.7
U.S: 4.0, 5.0

well i obviously cant decide what other people get upset by, but the poll is pretty conclusive. the rwr thing looks like its only really going to affect ground players significantly. it looks like all of the top tier aircraft can detect each other so thats the important part for a lot of people

Yeah. Gameplay wise, I personally don’t care whether I’m being locked on by a MiG-29 (all Russian planes show up as MiG-29s anyway), a Gripen, or a F-16. I’m just going to defend by notching, chaffing away and pulling out the same way anyway. Not to mention we have tags in Air RB which reveal what the enemy planes are anyway as well.

I would only care if it were an unhistorical change, being detrimental to realism; but if it is actually realistic, then I don’t really care.

Good news, it’s ahistoric.

Not that anything will be done about it because they’ve set their mind to it.

To be fair, it’s not like Gaijin always has/had balance or fairness at heart.

Hell the whole F-15E engine situation likely isn’t even a balance thing, they just want US player to spend money to get the more fun version of the aircraft they are getting.

Mig-29 lock means there’s probably an R-27ER headed your way, which should be treated with more urgency than any other SARH missile.

If you get locked by some other fighter, get a launch warning from them and then it goes away - you know you’re safe because the SARH missile lost lock. If some time later you get locked again by the same fighter, then you know they must launch a new missile, meaning you still have adequate time to go defensive.

In the same engagement with a Mig-29, you know it has datalink and high missile speed, so once you get locked and launch warning the first time and it goes away, you know the missile is potentially heading your way still using it’s inertial guidance. Once you are locked again by the same Mig-29, it means he’s guiding the very same missile into terminal against you, and you have barely a few seconds left to react

Information is crucial, is what I’m trying to say
