Major Update Concept/Pitch - "Call of Mahabharata" - The Indian Nation & Ground Tree

We’re Looking for Researchers for our Indian Nation Project!

Hello! Me and a handful of team members have been working on a project to propose making India its own major nation in WarThunder, as they have more than enough vehicles in every case to form their own nation.

India has a lot more to offer, and we want you to help! Below is our discord for our research project, and if you have anything to add, or just want to join, feel free!

Thank you!

Sri Lanka has upgraded Kfir C7 with modern radar and missiles which is almost toptier worthy

This is not quite true, well not yet at least.

There has been talks of modernization efforts from IAI taking place since 2021, and it’s presumed that the first example of upgraded Kfirs could be seen this year if it’s indeed happening, but it’s yet to be seen and no modernized examples exist as of yet. Only Colombia uses modernized Kfirs as of now, which are of the C.10 and Block 60 modernized standard (Specifically the Kfir C.10, Kfir TC.10, Kfir TC.12, and Kfir C.10 Block 60). Sri Lanka still uses standard Kfir C.2 aircraft as of right now, they still use the same old radar rangefinder.

Well upgradation has already started according to multiple sources, we will see those upgraded Kfirs at some point. Their Kfir C7 is going to be upgraded to block 60 standard so I guess it’s going to be very similar to the Colombian ones.

We hopefully will, and I can’t wait to see them and what armaments they entail! However currently, they don’t exist just yet. When they do they can be added to the game!

They used Kfir C2s, but yes they’re getting upgraded to Block 60 standards. This means the new Elta EL/M 2052 AESA radar with an amazing range of capabilities, a new countermeasure dispenser on the tail, MAWS (missing ingame for who knows what reason), and a new digital RWR among many other things.
Hopefully we’ll see adoption of Israeli air to air missiles as well to go with these, as their Air Force only operates the PL-5 at the moment. I trust they’ll make the right call and procure the I-Derby ER as well the Python 4/5 missiles in a simile fashion to Columbia since they are already compatible with the platform and likely to be offered to the Air Force with this upgrade. However this all remains to be seen for the time being. In the mean time Sri Lanka doesn’t really offer much as has been said earlier, and if the new Kfir ends up being nearly identical to the Colombian one, it really doesn’t add much to the game does it?

Yes, Indonesia and Malaysia have more indigenous vehicles than all the other options and have been very close to India since ancient times

Your discord link isn’t working

I meant for ground, there is no 12.0 worthy vehicle in this tt, arjun mk1a wont be able to cope up at 12.0, india doesnt have the “bhisma II”, sri lanka doesnt bring up any top tier tanks anyways

on the contrary in indonesian leopard 2a4+ and leopard 2RI would fill up the 12.0 gap

indonesia is the best option out of all, sri lanka shouldn’t even be considered

Due to only 500mm pen Arjun can be not higher than 10.7. And only Mk.1A and higher use FASPDS Mk.II
Arjun prototypes and even Arjun Mk.I use FASPDS Mk.i with just ≈300-360mm pen, wich even not worth 9.7

Yes, India still want Bhishma II, but Bhishma II will not use 3BM60. it will use 125mm FSAPDS MkII with only 500mm pen.

Maybe Gaijin For balance give 3BM60 for Indian used 125mm gun.

Maybe Ranjeet first prototype will be finally made by 2030. It will have 120mm smoothbore or 125mm smoothbore, wich means Gaijin can give any type of ammunition for balance.

500mm was for 2km, it can be around 560 at point blank, which isnt bad but isnt good either, its gonna sit either 11.3 or 11.7

this is the MAIN problem with indian tech tree, lack of top tier tank and i think indonesian subtree can fullfill this problem

No, listen.
India use NATO penetration calculation standard
Wich mean how much mm shell pen entering the steel plate at an angle of 60°.

Also steel plate with X thickness at 0°, has 2X thickness at 60°.

That is, 500mm pen at 2km means 250mm plate at 60°

(The game shows the thickness of the plate, not how much projectile can entering)

In game we have 120mm DM33 shell with 254mm(508 for NATO calculation system) pen at 2000m under 60°
So, ypu can clearly see that FASPDS mk2. Will pen less than 480mm at 0m 0°

there was a guy on youtube who pixel mapped a footage of a test firing of fsapds mk2

it seemed to go through 2 sheets of untold thickness and then another armor of 250mm thickness (500mm effective) and the round still went through

Yes, it should go through cause its called penetration,

Sorry folks, i made the post late where i am and wanted to go to sleep, here the actual link lol:

my point is it went through some sheets before too, i think its safe to assume its still a bit above 500mm

Yes.
Although, no matter how much we talk here, Gaijin will still take penetration from their imagination))))
