Major Update Concept/Pitch - "Call of Mahabharata" - The Indian Nation & Ground Tree

Not APS, just rotateable smoke launchers.
APS Coming later and by news it should be Trophy

I see.

Their is been work going on, post 1999 kargil war, their was a requirement set for a apfsds which is capable of pen of 600mm of RHA from 2000 meters, so far DRDO archived at 575mm of RHA from 2000 meters back in 2017, this is not the same apfsds as MK1A’s apfsds which is often called FSAPDS MK2 which has a pen of 500mm of RHA from 2000 meters.

Interestingly we are making apfsds for T-90 based on the same apfsds of Arjun MK1A, the rod is the same with pen of 500mm of RHA from 2000 meters, since Russian monkey model 3BM42 in practice only pens 470mm of RHA from 2000 meters.

Also as far as i know 500mm penetration is limited by autoloader structure (in Bhisma mk1 and Mk2).
Only T-90A and higher version (like T-90M / MS) has autoloader, wich can use better projectiles.

But, for some reason at the few pictures Indian Engineers was shown next to T-90A autoloader posters and 3BM60 projectile.

Many military journalists interpret it as Bhishma mk3 has T-90A autoloader and planned to be equipped with 3BM60 projectile (600mm of RHA at 2000m)

Bhishma MK3 is all about internal upgrades like :

  1. Digital Coms.
  2. Auto Tracker For 1A45 I-FCS.
  3. DRDO - TKN-4S AGAT-M CDR Sight With TI & LRF.
  4. LCD Monitor For TI - ESSA.
  5. TATA - Digital Ballistic Computer
  6. DRDO - Anti Thermal IR Coating.
  7. BDL - INVAR ( 3-UBK-20 ) GLGMS.

Their is no upgrade of ammunition or any import of 3BM60 from government source, Indian T-90 will be using Indian & imported 3BM42,

it was my assumption but i was wrong about it.

Here’s the real value of monkey model of 3BM42 mango which Indian imported, 460mm of RHA @ 2000 meters as tested by Indian counterparts.

+1, India has many unique vehicles and enough modified ones I think it should be added as a full tree

Some of the 8X8 armored fighting vehicles from past, though BTR-60 was only limited to air defense units since they came into service with import of Russian air defense systems, while OT-64 saw combat in 71 war, both systems are retired in 90s.

Have any of the Indian OT-64 equipped with ATGM’s since Czech and Polish OT-64’s/SKOT’s were equipped with them at some point

No, they were retired too soon …

@slowmo21too-psn some interesting stuff here

I want to know something not much related to ground forces, but i might try asking you.

Its regarding HF-24 marut, and top speed of its variants

There were main 3 iirc

  1. Mk1 - with 2 non afterburning bristol engine
  2. Mk1R - with 2 afterburning bristol engine
  3. Mk1BX - with first 1 bradner and 1 bristol, later 2 bradner (e300 engines)

Out of these, Mk1 top speed is 1112 kmph, mach 0.93 at sea level (wiki is most likely misleading saying it never went supersonic, at altitude it definately went supersonic). On the other hand, Mk1 BX went mach 1.1 at unknown altitude (most likely also near sea level, but not comfirmed).

Do you have any speed values for marut mk1 at some altitude? speed value of mk1r at any alitude? and also mk1bx at specified altitude?

460mm LOS, at 60°, 2000m

And ingame, its 470mm LOS (235mm vertical), at 60°, 2000m

So pretty close ingame.

It archived 1,112 km/h at 36,000 ft …

Here a good read about it’s engine history : Spansen: Watching These IAF HF-24 Marut Fighters Taxiing & Taking To The Air Is A Sight Just As Contemporary

Definitely, all that really matters is making sure what are vehicles that saw service and which ones are just exhibited vehicles

Other than that, ill be sure to check them out!

Pretty sure it was 1112 kmph at sea level, even wiki now says that. the mach 0.93 number is also gives speed in 1100 - 1150 kmph for speed level

https://web.archive.org/web/20130728144222/http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/History/Aircraft/Marut1.html

Here it also states that it reached 1149 kmph at sea level, which translates to exactly mach 0.93

When are we going to get more Indian vehicles ffs. They claim it’s a sub-tree but there’s very few things in the tree. Still hoping it becomes an independent tree though. Give me that Arjun Mk. 1A and Bhishma Mk. III.
