Looks better now! Still missing the T-90MS which would bolster the 11.3-11.7 lineup but otherwise it’s a nice suggestion!
Curiously, what is going on with India’s acquisition of the T-90MS? I haven’t heard anything on them receiving any.
I was under the impression they already had them, but I just checked and maybe they haven’t actually… A lot of stuff seems to say they approved the deal a couple years ago and wanted them produced soon but none seem to have appeared. Maybe the war in Ukraine is slowing things down?
That’s what I’m thinking. I think with the other vehicles, both experimental and regular, it will be fine without the T-90MS.
Only issue is that 10.3 is the second highest BR for an MBT after the Arjun Mk 1A, and to my knowledge there aren’t any other options other than the T-90MS. I know that they’re working on a new MBT but who knows when it’ll be revealed.
That’s fair, I agree. I think over time we’ll see options develop for top rank. They have several projects going on. The new hybrid Atharva is a testament to that being a cost effective way to upgrade T-72’s. Maybe they’ll develop the T-90S and Atharva further by incorporating Kachan armor to them or something. New ammo too. I know there T-90S is going through a modernization right now as well. One of them could lead to an indigenous upgrade of the vehicle that could be radically different/better and sit at top instead of the Tagil since the Tagil is MIA for the foreseeable future.

There was also a plan to install Trophy APS to T-90S. I wonder what happened to that.

One vehicle that could be added to that tech tree you made would be the “OFB 105 mm SPG”.
It is a 105mm howitzer in a turret mounted on a license built hull of a BMP-2.

I saw these while researching and considered adding them, but arent they casemate?
If so it would be difficult to add and play since especially it’ll only carry HE.

From what ive found, they did begin to recieve a handful back in 09’ but idk whats happening now, likely their “Special Military Operation” having them distracted from exporting:

According to the source I linked, the gun has a fairly limited traverse around 12.5 degrees to either side. Though it can also fire AP shell.
So I think this will be a nice addition as a more traditional casemate TD.
India does not have T-90MS, this is a myth

Another one worth mentioning is the Jonga. Basically a locally-produced jeep designed by Nissan. One variant was equipped with a 106 mm recoiless rifle and saw combat in several wars and border clashes with Pakistan. I think this oune would serve nicely as a low-tier scout TD.

I saw that too but I believe the T-90M and MS were first revealed in 2013, so India can’t have received T-90MS’ in 2009. I wonder if it’s confusing them with another variant – when did India receive their T-90S’?
That’s what I was tracking. The only thing I’ve seen on it was India had allocated the money for procuring them back in 2019 (i think that was the year) and nothing else
Most likely this was canceled and not paid for as a contract, the last thing I heard about this is that they are modifying the T-90S by adding a different thermal imaging system (2023/24)
