You know that US getting AV8B+ will be as dissapointing as if Germany and other countried get spikes. To be fair, i didnt played top tier for a while, But i dont think anyone is using it as CAS. And if ARB? That must be even worse.
There is a very simple reason for starting new nations with air trees:
Planes are the only vehicles that have an “exclusive” gamemode, you can’t use tanks, ships or helicopters in air battles.
Since there is no ground-only or naval-only gamemode a nation that doesn’t have any planes would be at a major disadvantage. There are only two options when it comes to introducing new nations:
A) Have it be air-only until their tank and heli tree is ready
or
B) Introduce it as a fully fledged nation with planes, tanks and helis from the start
(both cases would obviously have CBT packs first tho)

Well, they developed it from the original British-made and designed Hawker Siddeley Harrier, and the British wanted to continue developing it together with the Americans but had to cancel their partnership due to budgetary constraints IIRC. The Americans however continued to develop the original Harrier into what would become the AV-8B. The Brits upon seeing these results, decided to rejoin the program and get their own second-generation Harriers.

thats my point, there isnt a point in the AH64E if we dont get the Longbow hellfires, we could get brimstones since they have a duel mode seeker of both laser and or radar guided

I am pretty sure a number of internals are also different, but in a way yes that is true.
yeah the Av8B+ for America is over due
yeah the engine for example is overall the same with some improvements, its mainly wing redesigns and then internal electronics

Yeah, and then there’s the Night-Attack version of the AV-8B for example that came with it’s own FLIR camera. Although if i’m correct it still needed a separate laser designator (such as the LITENING) to provide it’s own laser designation.

yeah thats the main difference between the british and american second generation harriers, the Gr5, Gr7 and Gr9 all have FLIR cameras
