IRL yes. Using the formula gaijin uses to calculate penetration, DM73 would penetrate 663mm. DM53, while being somewhat subpar in terms of spalling, is absolutely sufficient in terms of penetration. DM73 would neither offer a significant upgrade nor is it needed at the moment.
