To the best of my knowledge, the 9L(I) is nearly identical to the 9L, even so far as 9Ls are capable of being rebuilt/upgraded into the L(I). It was one of the main reasons they became the European missile over the 9M, cheaper and retrofit the 9L stocks already there.
They aren’t interchangeable between models.
