Major Update “Air Superiority” - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 3)

if we don’t get AIM120As then the F-15 might just be semi-DOA at this point. 120A is inferior to 27ER just saying

bad vehicles are going to remain bad, the fact of the matter is that Britain does not have many vehicles to fill the gap between now and the Typhoon, which is far too advanced to be added yet

Don’t worry Gripen C will probably have better radar then F15A
Oh wait

Incorrect…

For start with, Tornados still have a placeholder FM that is massively underperforming, Skyflash is also underperforming and the F3 could recieve any number of upgraded AAMs.

Tonrado Gr1 is so unfinished, it is barely recognisable.

For A2A.

BAE EAP
Tornado F3 AoP
Sea Harrier FA2

For CAS

Harrier Gr9A
Tornado Gr4

And now we have F-15s and Su-27, Typhoon DA2 could come this update quite easily.

Not to mention the Cheeta C SAAF JAS39 C Hal Tejas and CF-18

Ive become quite keen on the Cheeta after doing some research its be VERY good and exactly what Britain needs

well gripen radar is irrelevant if BVRAAMs are not added lol

a Gripen C or F-18 would be a good fit, but I think India should be am assive no go

Come to think of it, the f15 in the trailer can’t be an A because the thing never had any ground ordinance up until the strike eagle

Off-boresight shots with Aim-9.

Fair but I wont complain :p

That was my point

that is a common misconception, however it is untrue

I haven’t found a single example of one doing so, and I’ve looked hard. Not saying I can’t be wrong with that but it sure is hard to find one doing it

Well just because it wasnt done doesnt mean its impossible, if anyones has access to its manual thatd be awesome

Would the A’s still be classified?

Been almost 50 years I assumed it might

Maybe? Depends how much overlap exists with current F-15s that are still in service.

The capability did exist, but the USAF never trained for it and never used it.

Earliest I can find is a B
