Bro t90m with relikt cant even handle an tandem atgm IRL https://www.reddit.com/r/TankPorn/s/u46bvUa3Rm
Maybe against 1st gen anti era like DM53 and M829A3. But how can they possibly know against M829A4 and DM83. They don’t know the exact design of the round or have first hand examples. It’s more likely that these rounds can in fact penetrate given that Relikt has been exported/captured, and once again the difference between Relikt and K5 is a different explosive and a thicker flyer plate? Not exactly hard to make an educated guess as to what’s needed to penetrate that.
I believe his source is right.
K5/Relikt CAN defeat M829A3*
*at certain angles and below certain speeds
As seen in some of the simulations where the round hits at a perfect flat across the horizon angle on a tank that is sitting perfectly flat. Outside of that perfect lab simulation things get less reliable.
I can also believe that Relikt can stop M829A3 I was more referring to the newest generation rounds.
Really don’t think K5 stands a chance against M829A3 unless at extreme angles. It was after all developed to defeat K5 after we realized M829A1 was not good enough to penetrate it.
From the research papers I think I posted it’s about a 3-5 degree difference before ERA is effectively ignored. But if it’s angled away more by 1-2 degrees it does even better at defeating KE with far less force let through to the armor.
A4 on the other hand has been said to provide “OVERMATCH” vs ERA
From the DOD itself overmatch means:
Combat overmatch, simply put, is the concept where my (insert lethality system here) can willfully and without prejudice or luck defeat your (insert your protective system here).
I’m extremely interested in what exactly the datalink on M829A4 is for. I know it’s theorized to be for a precursor projectile before the main rod hits, which is pretty crazy if true.
If I were to guess at that, I’d assume that the datalink is for telling the FCS what round is in and it automatically adjusting firing solution.
I think the special sauce of the KE is physics magic.
The datalink tech seems like it’s more for the AMP round with airburst fusing.
Two way, read what round, then write airburst fusing after FCS gets range like the XM25
“Heads or tails?” - ATGM crew betting on the turret to flip
That makes sense I didn’t even think about the FCS automatically distinguishing rounds from each other. I know datalink is heavily seen with prox fuse which is why I found it strange to be on a KE projectile. But your explanation is far more likely than a KE projectile with a precursor projectile lol.
Well it doesnt work IRL
wasnt accepted, your sources about the matter aint accepted as being primary
All other sources on which the current ones are implemented speak about worse performance then what u claim
That… was a mine
rusians can claim whatever they want. The manufacturer of said ERA has never seen or will see any of anti-ERA rounds of NATO countries etc. They can bullshit their own government, but bullshiting the whole world is a whole bigger deal. Even though they had some success for a while.
The Russian military improved a lot since 2022
It was not.
Image 2 & 3 show the same frame, just with a box for highlighting.
This video shows it pretty well;

Maybe it got lucky and struck a gap in the side relikt ERA? We know there’s a small gap there
is that APFSDS?
It did not. All the things I know about rusian military come to a single truth. And trust me, I know more than you. They never improve, they never change. They tell they are though and a lot of people still believe it for some reason.
Their use in drones, for one, has improved tremendously
From zero to 5 in 3 years, considering the upper limit being 1000 can be called a tremendous improvement, because it’s no longer zero, but they’re forever behind with them, same as with every other piece of tech they produced/produce/will produce.
