The Sheridan as noted in the description in the War Thunder Wiki and in the Web should be able to swim but it currently isn‘t.
In order to swim, it needs to deploy a flotation screen. It isn’t amphibious in standard configuration.

So isn’t the Bmp-1 but in the Game it can swim.
The BMP-1 was designed to be able to swim without a flotation screen.
