mmm nope.
That was only when loading AMMO INSIDE THE TANK.
not when loading ammos on cannon.
Inside , there was 2 guys placing round on “reload rail” , and sliding that huge metal blob on breech
I would like for tank when it gets down to a crew level that prevents it from functioning, to be considered knocked out if you can’t spawn another crew member. There’s not really any difference between an M55 down to 2 crew than other vehicles that start with 3 or 4 crew when they’re down to one. Worst case scenario, the M55 can drive but not shoot, so it can cap but other than using an mg, can’t fight.
So it’s fine for 2 crew members to replace a whole freaking engine, gun breach and gun barrel in 30-50 seconds, but you draw the line at an M55 being able to operate with only 2 crew members?
That is a pretty weird line to draw, not gonna lie.
So should tanks not be able to turn their turret, fire the machine gun, and be see their surroundings while while reloading if they only have 1 crew member in the turret left? Should the roof machine guns work like enlisted where you have to pop the commander out to fire them?

My poor Abram’s crews everytime they are forced the fix the engine, turret basket, gun trunnion, breach and tracks due to one enemy shell.
can it not be both? Realism and fun aren’t mutually exclusive after all
U got nothing on stridsvagen 103 (cheese wedge). U can use it with only one crew member, so ur lone crew member can somehow repair tracks while still firing the gun, now thats real talent
Uhhh we dont do that in here.
It’s either regular MBT design or not.
Regular is boring. Ur shiny lil apfsds is no match for my smooooooooooth cheese wedge
Laughs while firing M892A2.

I will solve it the way all genius tank engineers solve their problems… Slap some ERA on it
“Loads M829A4 with malicious intents”
No it wasnt. THe 380mm shell weithgs a whopping 300 kilograms. No known man can lift that inside a tank.
that same crane was used to load the shell into the cannon.
Nope. There is another crane inside the sturmtiger what assisted on lifting the ammo on rail. And that inner loading system is operated completely by loader and co loader.
That exterior crane is only used lifting ammo inside the tank, not loading cannon
And yes, 2 guys could lift 300kg shells using lines on assist, It has been done in old naval guns.

I may be stupid, but i dont see any “additional cranes”.
in this video, of a tank in a museum (WG channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZNZCTNGtlI) it is also not visible of any crane. More than that, its visible that those shots are stored such a way inside crane wont let you operate them.
show me that lines please
You do realize naval guns has much more space inside them to operate efficiently right?
Can’t say the same thing for Strumtiger tho.
Yeah I do, but was saying it is still poasible. And they did it on naval guns :D
Strumtiger is based on Tiger1 hull which makes it pretty cramped for loading such a big shells from the inside unlike naval guns.
Not saying its impossible but judging the shell weight and its size its unlikely to load the shell from the inside.
Just a minute, I’ll place info on loading of that rocket when I get on my pc. Cant do it on Phone.
