It’s not about “OP” something doesn’t need to be “OP” for it to be annoying to deal with. Also those literally aren’t the only HEAT FS slingers in that BR range that you’ll be forced to deal with.

Not only does it just ruin the learning curve for newer players who don’t understand what’s hitting them, and why it’s going through no matter what. It’s WAY more immersion breaking than a “specialized M4A3 variant being made a tech tree available modification”.

Mind you, you’re pretty riding it’s only 2 vehicles. When the Fiat 6614, R3 T106, Type 60 SPG, Spz 12-3, WZ141, AUBL/74, etc
. All of which these vehicles have more than just “penetration” as a positive attribute. Most these vehicles being MOBILE ASF. That vs a Newly Nerfed Tiger II? If they play well there’s nothing at all you can do. But sure “PT-76” (as if that’s the only heat slinger below 7.7).

It’s nothing to do with OP (although in some given circumstances maybe you could argue some of these are “OP”) more to do with fun, and the immersion aspect one of you were complaining about in regards to specialized variants of WW2 tanks. Immersion is already dead is my point… FAR beyond dead. We have HEAT Slinging prototypes running around tigers and Sherman’s 24/7. How fun is that?

But a twin 50 cal is your problem… Yikes. Shall I say “ITS NOT OP STOP COMPLAINING” even though it’s not your argument either?

In Korea an M4A3E8 was field modified with twin .50 cals, and an alleged third replaced the hull MG.

co-ax .50cal is something that comes back here or there with USA tanks usually because it can stop a enemy trooper in one shot. Issues being you will cook the .50cal as cooling is a issue but makes sense infantry is a major issue for tanks.

Let’s just put it this way. A Sherman with an extra .50 is not appealing or “juicy”. It’s just a Sherman. No one cares about a single machine gun. Marketing a very standard Sherman as something special because of such a minor feature is ridiculous, that’s such copy-paste. You want an interesting Sherman, try the T31 or something.
So let the M4A3 just be an M4A3, interesting in its numbers and historical importance, rather than reaching for random field mods no one gives a shit about in a futile attempt to make a very basic Sherman into something it’s not- unique.

Infantry mode is going to change that up. More MGs keep the anti-tank teams away. Though I hope this encourages Gaijin to cook up more modifications for vehicles we have in game using real life modifications. You pick if you want the extra MGs or something else give or take.
