Looks like there’s a cast-in appliqué there.
For M4A3(75)W, all turrets would be later turret with impoved casting thickening turret as they were produced after 1943. For USMC M4A2 ingame, there are clearly case of early turret without applique armor(Of course they also operate applique version too)
It wasn’t just for the M4A3 (75), all Shermans received it.

You can see the thicker casting in your photo. Note the budge.
While in the topic of M4A3 75(W), it would be cool to see other M4 Variants like M4A1, A2, A4 & M4 75(W) versions to be added as a sub-research on their respective variants in the tech tree, makes the whole line up coherent and a stockpile of 3.3 - 4.0 Sherman’s, it would be funny to see German players using Pz.IV F2/G, Stug III F & Pz.III M encountering 1 Sherman then 5 more coming with different variants rushing the point.
how on earth is this not in any allied tree? Shermans are an open goal of an addition without much effort.

Another Sherman to grind and add to my fun lineup.
If Gaijin has to make a new low-tier ground vehicle for the US tree, then this should be a top-priority WW2 addition. Doesn’t make sense not to introduce this most iconic Sherman variant.
technically it is already in game as the sherman III/IV but yeah, would love a 75 M4A3 for the US tech tree
