Is there a reason why M338 shell’s anti-heavy ERA is not modeled and will it ever be? It’s been a long while since it’s implementation and Russia being the only nation with armor protection is really annoying especially when we don’t have even the approximation of modern armor on NATO tanks like Ariete or Merkava’s SLERA.
All information is open to the public so there’s no other reason for it to be so delayed, especially now when top tier is a cesspool of BMPTs and other Russian vehicles laid with them bricks.

woow one tanks per nations big game changer…
Russia is way more forgiving armor wise but you have a point. My point is, i don’t mind lack of anti-ERA capabilities in shells if the armor is modeled across the board, but it’s not. While T90 has to look at my direction and click i in my foil wrap protected Merkava have to aim then find weak spot then shoot and that’s in game where each millisecond counts and people spend money to reload 0.5 s faster. War thunder ain’t realistic anyway with them paper missiles and stalinium, might at least make it fun by having this alien concept of balance. It’s either all nations have no armor or we implement skill of aiming by implementing armor for all. Or at least make it like with night battles where i can opt out of fighting against or with USSR cuz it’s just not fun and as painful as wiping with sandpaper.

But not all nations have good reverse or reload so why should everyone be equally good armor?
dont own the any leopards, but doesnt the 2a7 have an L/55 but sweden has a worse L/44? im probs wrong tho
the discussion was about armor not the cannon.
2A7V to be precise has the L55a1 even, capable of firing even more advanced rounds not in the game.
Strv got the L/44 yes

No they don’t lol they’re not even comparable to a 90s prototype
Yes, tanks are not made the same, some better some worse(when implemented in game with it’s mechanics), but that’s where BR comes in isn’t it? Strong fights the strong. But the problem is that there is like 2 nations that have armor modeled those being USSR tanks and Germans to some degree. There are more than those 2 nations and they all lack armor model. Again, with the example of Merkava series, where are my SLERA and ERA? APS used to be Israel’s special thing but Russians now have it at top tier too, this balancing is weird, when it comes to Reds they are not allowed not to have the things that NATO possesses but it doesn’t work in reverse.

It feels like devs simply can not accept that Russia is not as great as advertised and for the past 4 years have been in denial and dissociation by adding absurd amount of equipment to Reds and putting NATO on a chopping block. What other reason there is for such selective balancing? They’re not afraid of alternate history stuff or approximation like KH38MT shows.
While you can legitimately argue that Russias’ armour is too strong for the rounds they face, if you equip NATO tanks with anti-ERA rounds and Russias’ armour becomes useless they have worse literally everything else than any other NATO tank, so they will be going down in BR until they face things that either don’t have anti-ERA or lack the pen to get through the main armour.
I also suspect there is a serious volumetric issue going on between the 2 plates in Kontakt-5 and Relict ERA that needs to be fixed

That’s why i said that i’d rather have armor modeled across the board so that everyone will have to use aim.

Given that most NATO tanks armour is based off “best guesses” it would be the best option, no one can really say its too much anymore then they can prove it’s currently not enough. Another issue is the 3BM60 being one of the lower penning rounds at top tier meaning that something that is borderline pen-able for Russian tanks is easy to pen for a lot of other NATO tanks, but there is still the DU 3BM59 that could be added to the top Russian tanks that would be about on par with the DM-53 and M-829A2 and would allow for more uniform armour improvements.
And I would realy like my Type 10 to have it’s Nano twinned crystal steel armour!

Their best guess is foil that makes tank greener than Hulk’s piss? I doubt that

(taken from this this tread Merkava 4 armor is long overdue to be buffed) I know the thread is old but Merkava is still lacks it’s signature SLERA and turret checks ERA protection except APS which works 30% of 10% of the time and now Russians have top tier APS too XD

Honestly I would be happy to suffer the current C&P premium spam if they just spent the year on bug fixes for the THOUSANDS of issues that plague ALL nations in the game.
There are also dozens of vehicles that where introduced in a weakened state for “balance”, that was perfectly fine when they where introduced and would have been to powerful other wise, but have never been updated. The F-14s are a great current example.

I dream of days when gaijin stops Leopard spamming in each minor nation tree and starts balancing games by adding key features of top tier bracket vehicles. Huge cope-out.

Ohh 100%, actually making minor nations tanks viable rather than just dragging and dropping the major nation tanks into those nations and calling it a day.
China was a great example:
Chinese: “Gaijin fix our tanks”
Gaijin: “we will add Singapore!”
Chinese: “No! Fix our domestic tanks!”
Gaijin: …!
