Canada - Ground Forces
Hello, I am suggesting the M24 Chaffee used by Canada. I had found a source that went into detail, well, looking for something else, so I figured I would use it.
History

In 1944, the Canadian(and British) forces were looking at the Chaffee to replace the Stuart tanks in service with them at the time, with plans to bring them into reconnaissance squadrons in Northwest Europe in late 1944. However, due to issues like the demand on the US industry at the time, this would not come to pass.
The Canadian 4th Armoured Division would receive one Chaffee in April of 1945; well, they were stationed in northern Germany for testing purposes. Well, the Chaffee was found to be a suitable replacement for the M5A1’s that, at the time, were in service with Canadian units. Despite this, it was too late for the Chaffee to enter service in Europe, as the war was over, and there were plans to leave everything overseas, as not only was the cost of bringing them back considered not worth it, they were also considered useful in helping rebuild the armys of nation that spent years under occupations.
These factors would lead to Canada getting a small handful of refurbished M24s for use in Canada by the Canadian Armoured Corps. The Canadian M24s would begin being delivered in December of 1949, with 5 being received that month. The Canadian examples would have flat top storage bins in place of the pioneer tool mounts, this storage style was used by the British on their Chaffees. In the early 1950’s majority of the M24’s were used at Camp Borden, but by 1954, most had been moved to storage. The tanks would be declared obsolete in 1958 and would be taken out of use, and sent off to their next fates.
