I wouldn’t get attached or used to this current prototype design though, it’s more or less being used to figure out how the soldiers will be fighting in the tank and developing new training for this new tank. It is likely that the M1A3 production model is vastly different.

Its just “M-1E3” for experimental. Any production version would be M-1A3.
Since its derived from an existing chassis, really just gen 3.5 or so depending on what bells and whistles make it on to the actual tank.

At least the manpad its more useful, should have added something to counter drones.

Don’t now much about this, but ain’t it just M1E3 and not M1A2E3?

M1E3 is the designation for the next-generation Abrams variant that will consolidate the fleet and replace older M1A2 SEP v3/v4 upgrades.
The “A” in M1A2 refers to a specific baseline model (the A2 series), but the Army decided to drop that for the new designation. The E3 is treated as an engineering change proposal (ECP) applied to the Abrams line, not just to the A2 variant.
That makes no sense, since loads of A2s are upgraded from A1. So it wouldn’t matter for A2 or not, since in time all Abrams will be of E3 level.
Also title has been changed.

If this tank comes to the game, Gaijin would absolutely copy-paste it like every other Abrams with the turret ring issue and the same hull armor, so it’s pointless.

Will the US update a new top-tier tank in the near future? I’m considering whether to buy a crew for SEP v2.
US would only get M1A2 SEP V3 next (SEP V4 if we are lucky) which i don’t see being added any time soon (maybe towards the end of this year)
Ok what even the main difference between the Abrams X and M1E3?
IIRC Abram X was a TD and M1E3 would be the tank that would replace Abram (Unless M1E3 is also cancelled)
