It’s amazing how the turret armor, which should be the most heavily armored part of the Abrams series, is described in the game as if it’s made of cardboard that can be penetrated by almost any ammunition over 580 mm. We have evidence from people who operate these vehicles stating that the turret armor is superior to many western vehicles currently in use. It doesn’t have ‘additional parts,’ which makes it seem like just a segmented armor made of various materials. However, what stands out is the depleted uranium used as reinforcement, which can withstand most projectiles! Not to mention the Kevlar armor found throughout the vehicle from the SEP V2/V1 and its later variants, designed to enhance crew survivability.
The side armor represented in the game is incorrect; those blocks should be more resilient, yet they look like empty boxes with only 3 mm more armor that doesn’t have any real effect, only effective against artillery in a protected area. It’s ridiculous how the Abrams variants are treated. They’re willing to add new ammunition but refuse to incorporate what’s documented and found in prototypes with various modifications beyond what has been mentioned. My only frustration with all of this is being penetrated in the turret by all top-tier tanks from over 1600 meters as if the armor on my turret doesn’t exist.
