playing this game more than 2 years is kinda crazy, but here we are
Meanwhile my account got created 12 years ago and I’m still playing :)
kinda the same, i created mine in 2016 (not this one)
Time flies so fast, i was just a young boy when i met with this game for the first time.
As much as I really want to see the SEP V3 in this game for its potential alone, Gaijin HAS to fix the current Abrams and its many copy paste brothers. While this has been an ongoing discussion for years (and still is), I’m quite certain Gaijin has replicated the Abrams as best as they are legally allowed.
It really is unfortunate the Abrams is an overall weak high tier MBT with highly visible massive weak spots. I think many of us can say we have a strong desire to play such an iconic tank but it also feels like its poorly replicated for likely closed door reasons that we may never know about.
Gaijin is sneaky however. I personally thought to have found a ‘bug’ where the Abrams is the only tank that doesnt generate spalling when hit in the lower front plate with a very shallow heading angle, but this is likely not actually a bug and potentially a feature akin to IRL i.e. spall liner or DU armour in effect.
With all that said, the Abrams does lack some features in game and we all know its the weakest MBT in high/top tier. Can Gaijin actually fix it though? Until its a competitive MBT in game again, Gaijin will likely not be trying to add V3, especially when many of its upgrades that make it a V3 or even V4 are highly classified.
For now the focus needs to be improving its competitiveness amongst other nations. Feel free to correct me as im not up to date on any unclassified info for a modern Abrams variant.
[EDIT] It should be noted that Gaijin does continue to improve all of their tanks and their internal modelling, albeit really slow. In just a few years, volumetric has taken over and there now exists a ton of new modules and mechanics to this game. Ignoring bias, Gaijin has been retroactively improving all top tier vehicles, especially with this massive update Ninth Wave coming any day now. I’m not attempting to excuse Gaijin with their methodology for handling this game, just playing a little devils advocate as we all tend to instinctively focus hate onto Gaijin instead of giving constructive feedback to the community.
I agree but I also think it is well over due for the Sep v3 arrival to the tech tree
Random thought but think the snail will only add the sep v3 when the t14 is also added?
they’ll only add it when the soviets have something 10 years or so newer
They will most probably not do that. They would add SEP V3 before it and add SEP V4 or Abram X or M1E3 with T-14
Definitely agree with that. It’s just a matter of when Gaijin feels its appropiate to add into the game even though we all want it lol.
Yeah that is unfortunately how it goes I was just hoping we would get it this update
I’d say this thing probably will make it’s entry when the Armata comes in, as unreasonable as it may sound.
It is completely unreasonable and stupid, if so gaijin better make it have realistic armor.
They probably will, no use in taking away the DU elements in the LFP as the rest of the tech trees will probably get monsters with giant cannons and unmanned turrets. (M1E3 will probably get here too in proximity to it probably)
Even if they add it, it’s gonna have the same huge turret neck weakspot, and won’t be able to pen russian MBTs UFPs, because they’re gonna release an even stronger russian MBT to counter its better penetration.
Same with potential new 1400mm Leclerc. Won’t be able to pen russian UFP because they’ll release an even stronger one, and will have the same weakspots (everywhere on the tank).
It’s pointless hoping NATO nations will be more competitive if they add X or Y new vehicle.
Same with LAV-25 and its useless nerfed-to-the-ground bushmaster, same with VBCI MKII RCT40 (PHILOCTETES) with both bushmaster and bugged MMP missiles, … if they don’t fix what’s bugged or unbalanced, releasing new vehicles would be useless (except for the look and the lore).
They are competitive but i get what your saying
Russia has been having a 65% W/L as of recent and unfortunately this update has shown that Russia must be the best in game or extremely competitve otherwise and it should be obvious they will continue to focus on Russia first before adding a counterpart for NATO. Whether this is intentional or Gaijin not having much choice (likely ongoing political reasons), War Thunder is somewhat a Russian propaganda game.
What’s more worrying is this game has the same repetitive cycle of making Russia OP with basically no similiar NATO counterparts for months before finally adding something for NATO nations. The bmpts have shown how aggressive they are to favour Russian tanks first.
This also probably explains why certain nation tanks have strange bugs or weird volumetric moments, because if they were to fix these ‘bugs’, and by that I mean making the game function as intended NOT fixing the tank to its IRL counterpart(because Gaijin likes to pick and choose their rules, and this is a game afterall), NATO and Russia would all lose some portion of the W/L they currently maintain around certain BRs. I believe the impact of these fixes would adversely effect NATO more than Russia however.
All said, this update has shown that Russia comes first before other nations get their cool goodies and even then, some of those goodies must be on par with Russian counterparts, usually by nerfing it to fit the role or simply breaking the realism factor altogether to fit within the game.
It’s extremely frustrating. We want a fair and balanced game and yes certain nations will have OP tanks in certain BRs but prioritising Russia first is not the real issue, its the lack of balance it creates and the amount of artifical inflation to prop Russian vehicles above NATO altogether as a whole, not just certain tanks or certain BRs.
Yes.
I personally cannot stand the lack of balance at +10.3 GRB.
Noticed how, not long after they added the LMURs, they nerfed the addon roof armor of the Strv 122s and Merkavas (cannot remember which versions though) ?
Noticed how relatively good the hungarian (Russia’s ally IRL) air and ground vehicles are ingame ?
Those are not coincidence for sure.
