Its also a consideration for the future. But the modules are as intended currently.
A2, Sepv1, Sepv2 even share the same exact bump mark on its tracks. Idk hows that different 😐
It’s almost as if the model was ready to remove the tusk package the entire time. Since release
Anyone notice that the sep and sep v2 got LWS on the latest dev?
Wow, okay, that’s based. From 12 smoke grenades to 30? And LWS? Very cool
@SPANISH_AVENGER That one you’ll like
SEPv2 might be best abrams now
Not only does it look fine as hell, but also provides further visual distinction from baseline 1992 M1A2, at last- making it feel somewhat more modern, even if the turret armor improvements aren’t depicted, sadly.
LWS is also a BIG improvement gameplay wise, too.
Not really, SEP continues to be. Even taking off the ERA, SEPv2 is still a bit heavier, while it has worse side armor than SEP, as, instead of having composite skirts, it has a 6mm thick steel plank instead.
However, I am now grateful that, at least, we can make SEPv2 3 whole tons lighter than until now!
Well 30 smokes and LWS would make it my go to. Just with the new smokes and finally modeled lws.
SEP will also get the 30 smokes and LWS!
SEPv2 COULD have been the best Abrams if they kept the composite skirts when you take off the TUSK package; instead, it just removes the ERA from the mounts. So you lose both the ERA and the composite skirts.
Truth to be said, the way they have implemented being able to take off the TUSK, I am not sure whether I will or not, hahahah. Maybe I will, 3 tons is 3 tons after all.
SEP, by the way;
OH NVM, huge america buff
Not huge, since it’s soft factors, but definitely QUITE welcome, indeed!
Unfortunately, the 30 smokes isn’t that much of a buff because 5 shots are fired at once, per side, for a total of 10…which means it has 3 pops total, same as currently. It should have a wider area though.
Yeah… all of the Abrams tanks have the exact same skirt models with the exact same textures and all.
I can’t see how it’s an issue to copy-paste them on SEPv2, honestly. What “quite drastic model edit” could it possibly require? xD
I, however, get the point that the weight saving would not be as dramatic as the ERA itself. So if the dev’s intention was to provide “full armored vs most lightweight” iterations, I get their choice! After all, the composite skirts may weigh like a whole ton, so it would be a 2t loss instead of 3t.
I would still have liked to be provided with the choice, though. It’s what I would have picked.
Proof that every single Abrams has the same composite skirts; SEP, A2, A1 AIM, and A1 HC here. Same goes for IP and M1.
I mean, look at the Chieftain 900. The simulated armour is 4mm of structural steel, that’s equivalent to the tin mudguards WW2 tanks have.
For what it’s worth as well, it seems when the ARAT/Tusk armor is removed in the DEV server, two sensors also get removed (the rear two), which by the video shown, is incorrect and should have four sensors no matter the configuration.
It was only ever tested on Sepv2 and above. They are probably just playing with the abarms model for Sepv3 that might come in the December update.
