so everyone knows about a3. my recent post was me trying to see the modification panel to see if m829a3 and tusk was actually there. it was!

BUT
i noticed something. M829A3 Dosen’t have the white checkmark on it. the checkmark usually means that youve researched the modification, but it dosen’t appear on the a3 round for some reason.
is it auto unlocked with the tank or do i gotta grind for the m829a3 as well?

M829A3 = Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot
(Its “say bow”, not “sah but”.)
It’s “Say-Bow” there’s no pronunciation of the T
The checkmark is the ability to install and uninstall a module. Like the Engine or Transmission, when installed, they provide a improvement to these respective modules, others like Crew Replenishment and any ammunition unlocked via researching it at the Modifications window can’t be uninstalled, for that you just don’t use those. All modules need to be researched, there are no free unlocked modules.

Checkmarks don’t appear for rounds IIRC. You still have go grind for M829A3
Its cause its an american round so pronunciation is slightly different. I prefer saying armour piercing anyway
I like how the Brits call them “darts”.

The word is french. And the round is french (apds)
APDS originates from Britain…

Edit: and there is a suggestion on this forum for giving it to 1.0 french tanks
All sources I’ve seen are pointing to Britain being the first to make and first to service, either way, it’s not a French creation like you claimed
Idk what to tell you. Brandt, before world war II, made a special round for French 37mm cannons that fired the lighter 25mm shell from a sabot. It may not have been used much, but by the definition of APDS, it is the first use. It is not hard to fact check
