Saudi wouldn’t add much, Australia has more of an arms relationship with the US than with any other nation besides maybe Germany and or Canada. Even then most of their arms, ammo and equipment is American. They have worked together for 10-15 years ATP preparing Australia and modernizing their military.
ammo is american because of 5.56 nato. their rifle is actually austrian derived and they have very close ties to british and japanese naval industries.

The fact I can play the Leclerc MBT at 11.7 if I just play USA is wild.
The fact I can play 85% of a Type 90 by playing 10.7 Britain is hilarious. I even almost got a nuke at top BR Britain using the Challenger Mk3 shortly after the Type 90 nerf to 11.7.
Our equipment is in the British tree. It should not go to Americans, historically we are closer to the British, and our military ties with America almost invariably include Britain in them.

Australia, also the majority of our stuff isn’t American, it is European. Just because we were unfortunate victims to have Abrams offloaded onto us doesn’t make all of our kit American.
Regardless of out side real world politics it makes more sense. The AIM is already in the US tree so not much of difference for the SEP V3.
Except it doesn’t, it makes more sense to be in the British tree because that is where Australian equipment ended up. The only reason it wasn’t in the British tree is because Americans are children who would sook the moment it happened. It would facilitate Australian players to actually play some of our modern stuff together in a single line up, and give Britain a half effective MBT in the absence of challenger being fixed. Not to mention the fact we now are likely to suffer the same problem Canada does if they bother to add our Leo 1s.

Their main rifle the AUG is Austrian. the 5.56 choice is to help with logistics when working with NATO but Australia is not a NATO member.
Not really a NATO thing when they are not members of NATO.
