I find wheeled vehicles in WT can’t get close to their top speed unless they are on paved surfaces. Does the Puma not suffer this?
Plus tracked vehicles seem to have much better maneuvering in tight places.

I’ve been using the Puma every day, but I’ve never once felt like it’s faster than the M18. On paved roads, it’s only barely equal at best, and on dirt or rocky terrain, the speed drops sharply to 40 km/h. Even on paved roads, on city maps like Sweden where you have to make lots of turns, I can only reach 30–40 km/h.The Puma’s tires feel unnaturally slippery, like they’re coated in lotion, so I can’t maneuver as freely as I can with the M18.

Its speed is 3x - 2x as high as that of comparable tracked vehicles. Its even faster than a 12.7 top tier MBT.
You need to use the speed to you advantage.

kill a tiger 2 from the front whit the M18 the M18 well have been fine if the maps was open not this 25 secs to you die bs
well it well help if the Devs of this game did have just 15 IQ as they dont they add mecnics that do so you M18 get 1 shotted by a 15mm HE shell on the Track

Should i still use it at 5.7 and 6.0+ as the next light tank i could get after the ebr is the amx 13 at (6.7 or 7.0. I forgot its exact br placement rn) and i doubt its gonna be as fast as that either
(Also outside of this why is the ebr actually fun to play? And this comes from a german player for like 7 years. By all merits it should be a bad tank with its sad armor and bad gun. Yet it feels more survivable than the sherman firefly (sa50) and overall just super good despite its weak gun and other shortcomings)
I’ve used it up to 7.0 without much issue. It is the tank I got the most nukes with and even got my first one with. It is an absolute rat in the bedt way possible. You will be the first on the flank and that allows you to always be on the side/back of your enemies where even the anemic 75mm can kill almost anything.
The AMX-13 is at 7.0 but you do have the ELC BIS at 6.3 before it if you need a light tank. The ELC is also quite fast and it’s even smaller and shorter than the EBR.
