They are heavily underperforming for their battle rating. Compared to other tanks they have very underwhelming ammunition for their guns for their battle rating (10.7), mediocre survivability and armour protection. The only good thing about them is the more than average mobility. I feel like they should give it the m833 and make the turret basket stronger.

Just a heads up (Ik you’re talking about the base M1s) but you did name the M1A1, which sits at 11.7. As for the base M1s, I agree that M833 wouldn’t be too much of a buff and give it ammunition on par with peers.

funnily enough lot of people whos opinion i respect call the 10.7 Abrams tanks good and its current implementation being on par with Leopard 2A4 (or better, depending on what you consider to be more important).

Oh yeah I agree with you on that.
I just can’t let it go when people (not you) call the Abrams bad in game.
Same tho I don’t like 105mm that much.
To me Abram’s must have 120mm under any condition, thats why I bought Click-bait during sale despite already having KVT and finished the entire tech tree, it just feels right you know?
12.0 US line-up is some of the best if not the best you can find in this game and Click-Bait just fits perfectly in there.

Because of average Click-Bait users but M1A2 also shares the same br which indicates that Gaijin has no intention to ruin that line-up.
Click Bait users aren’t that bad considering it always has 4-5x more games recorded than M1A2 or HC, but stats are keeping up.
Those three are 2A5 equivalents that sit at a lower BR.
Until recent performance increase they were quite bad, nowadays however they perform much better than before.
What happened recently and when ?
Dont know the exact reason but I believe most of them eventually learned how to play and started to bring line-up instead of leaving the game after one death.
I thought something has changed on tanks themselves.
Nah they are still the same.
Maybe new gun trunnion addition might increased its breach shot survivability.
Dunno but I do know they certainly aren’t worse than 2A5 that sits higher up.
