M.B.151C.1 The worst plane in WT, or am I missing something

I thought that F-84F was bad, but the French rank 1 event plane is just atrocious. Weak engine af that overheats quickly even with MEC, turns worse than an Fw 190, weak af 7.5mm guns. I can’t think of a SINGLE redeeming quality of this thing.

Is there something I’m missing, cause it seems like M.B.151C.1 is just a pile of French lavender scented garbage.

It’s rank 1 so it isn’t the worst. You fight extremely new players.

May just be major skill issue on my end, but that thing makes the F-84F look good.

I’ve yet to try it, but most rank 1 guns are abysmal so no damage is what i’m expecting.

The F-84F is good though.

And they fight mostly against enemies with no armour, so… see above!

So to put my money where my mouth is just went and had 3 games - 2 were uptiers and this thing doesn’t do well in uptiers!

Still managed 2 kills and 2 assists across 3 games, even if the 2nd kill was a head on where I died and then collided for my points!

The guns are good - 1350 rpm, but 300 rpg isn’t great. Also best ammo vs low tier is tracer belt - all IT, but that lacks a bit vs higher BR’s with a bit of armour.

Compared to the previous event MB - the MB 152C1 (2 x 20mm and 2 x mg) it’s actually a bit faster but climbs a smidgen slower.

All in all it’s pretty average at 1.7 - certainly nothing outstanding, but good enough as long as it’s a 1.0-2.0 game.

Biggest issue using the MB151C1 (1.7) in sim I found was that it faces the I-153 chaika (2.0). It’s not on WTAPC yet, but Chaika has 710 something HP at 1.8 tons gross weight, the french thing has 815 at 2.8 tons. So, HP/ton favours the chaika so you cannot stall climb it. You have a higher Never-exeed speed and dive speed, but I could not find a way to use these advantages in a 1vs1 match-up against an aware chaika pilot. This isn’t to say the chaika is overpowered, just that due to how BRs work… you’ll always be facing the 2.0 aircraft in your 1.7 plane and it will be suffering.

Other issue I have is the canopy. It suffers from the same glass pane sun reflection thing the Bf109 does, except at a much larger scale (frontal visibility isnt impacted. Side/rear though? Whole window turns orange and makes spotting waaay harder). I tried flying it on a late “Evening” match and I had like, barely any visibility out of one of my side windows.

I’m disappointed that this even needs to be said, but I mean for it’s BR, not in a vacuum.

Atleast Po 2 gets a bombsight which works well in in GRB. I couldn’t even find one redeeming quality for the M.B.151C.1.

And yet you had no such comparison - you could have compared it to like BR’s, but you chose to compare it to a jet … and then blame me for your shortcomings - nice.

Likely the main shortcoming is your seat-keyboard interface.
