The vehicle currently has several inaccuracies in War Thunder regarding its designation, visual modelling, and maximum speed.
1. Incorrect designation
The vehicle is currently designated Lvtdgb m/40 , but the correct designation is Lvtgdb m/40 .
The full designation is Luftvärnterrängdragbil m/40 , abbreviated as:
- Lv = Luftvärn
- Tg = Terräng
- Db = Dragbil
The vehicle was based on the Tgdbil m/40 , the truck on which the Lvtgdb m/40 was built.
(no bug report yet)
2. Incorrect sights
The sights currently modelled on the vehicle do not match photographs of the real Lvtgdb m/40. Instead, they appear to match the sights used on the L-62 Anti-II and similar ground-mounted configurations of the Lvakan m/36.
3. Incorrect rear plate
The rear plate behind the cargo bed is incorrectly modelled as straight.
On the real Lvtgdb m/40, this plate can be seen to be slanted at an angle rather than being completely vertical.
4. Incorrect maximum speed
The Lvtgdb m/40 has a maximum speed of 44.3 km/h in War Thunder.
The Tgdbil m/40 , on which the Lvtgdb m/40 was based, had a maximum sustained speed (max marschhastighet ) of 60 km/h . This is stated in the official vehicle catalogue on page 60 of the provided source.
The book is a compilation of first-hand sources in the form of official vehicle catalogues. This is explained in the section titled “Specialfordon” on page 4.
Suggested fixes
- Rename Lvtdgb m/40 to Lvtgdb m/40 .
- Correct the sights to match the real vehicle.
- Correct the rear plate behind the cargo bed to its proper angled shape.
- Increase the maximum speed from 44.3 km/h to 60 km/h .
Would this change how the vehicle is implemented in war thunder?
The model changes would not change its performance in anyway, however.
Increasing the maximum speed to 60 km/h would give the Lvtgdb m/40 significantly better mobility, allowing for faster-paced gameplay and more rapid repositioning. This could potentially make the vehicle somewhat more effective in its current role and may warrant a slight BR increase if deemed necessary.
