Lvkv m/43 – Facts
The Lvkv m/43 (Luftvärnskanonvagn m/43) was Sweden’s first self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle, developed during World War II. It was designed to provide mobile air defense for armored and mechanized units and entered service in the mid-1940s.

The vehicle was based on a modified Stridsvagn m/41 chassis (itself derived from the Czech LT vz. 38), making it reliable and well-suited for Swedish conditions.
Basic specifications:
- Country: Sweden
- Role: Self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAA)
- Chassis: Strv m/41
- Armament:
- 2× 40 mm Bofors L/60 autocannons
- Crew: 5
- Armor: Light armor, mainly for protection against small arms and shrapnel
- Mobility: Comparable to early light tanks, allowing it to keep up with ground forces
The twin 40 mm Bofors guns were highly effective, not only against aircraft but also against lightly armored ground targets.

Why the Lvkv m/43 fits well in War Thunder
The Lvkv m/43 would be an excellent addition to War Thunder, especially in the early Swedish ground tech tree:
- Strong low–mid BR SPAA option
Twin 40 mm autocannons would make it extremely dangerous to low-flying aircraft, perfectly fitting early Cold War / late WWII Battle Ratings. - Multi-role potential
Like many SPAA vehicles in War Thunder, the Lvkv m/43 would also be effective against light tanks and open-top vehicles, rewarding good positioning and awareness. - Classic Bofors gameplay
Players already enjoy the punchy, high-damage feel of Bofors guns in the game. Having two of them increases firepower while still requiring accuracy and trigger discipline. - Balanced by light protection
Thin armor and an open fighting compartment mean the vehicle relies on mobility and player skill rather than survivability—ideal for fair and engaging gameplay. - Historical and national flavor
The Lvkv m/43 represents an important step in Sweden’s air-defense development and would add historical depth and variety to the Swedish ground forces.
Overall, the Lvkv m/43 would be a fun, effective, and historically accurate SPAA for War Thunder, offering classic Bofors firepower and skill-based gameplay at lower Battle Ratings.
