Yesterday while live I played the Lvkv9040C, and had a discussion with a couple of people about the general placements of the 9040 series.
unlike something like the Spike +Bushmaster II carriers (Namer 30, Namer Trikshon, Hunter AFV, CV 90 Mk.IV and many more) which’s BR placement is eyebrow raising due to the unrealistic performance of both the Bushmaster and Spikes, the 9040 series seems to have a little more to it.
LVKV-9040C - arguably the most reasonable, at a BR of 10.3 it can still perform very well.
The combination of Radar, proxy and excellent APFSDS makes it one of the most versatile vehicles in the game, being able to play many roles at once, yet as the saying goes “Jack of all trades, master of non”.
It isn’t bad by any means (I managed to score a nuke with it) but it isn’t really a star at anything, it gets outranged constantly while fighting CAS, its APFSDS, although good, is slightly too weak to present a major threat on a forward engagement (I know it is an SPAAG/Light tank so it isn’t meant to engage frontally) forcing you to flank routes and camping positions. as I said it isn’t bad by any means, the armor is great and you get 5 crewmates, the most of the 9040 series, but like I said it gets worse from here.
Strf 9040 BILL - from the top to the bottom, arguably the worse 9040.
BILLs face the same issues as Spikes and TOW-2Bs where their damage and aiming are completely unrealistic and unreliable, and the issue is that it seems as the BILLs are supposed to justify it’s BR of 10.3.
It doesn’t get the upgraded APFSDS round, the BILL launcher has been further nurfed following its locked position launcher change, it doesn’t get the upgraded turret of later CV 9040s placing it at a very awkward position, where everything it has is considered unreliable, making it, arguably, the 9040 with the worse BR placement.
An issue to recognize is the Strf 9040B, which is the same just without BILLs, is at 9.7 where it performs fairly well, creating a BR border of 10.0.
Lastly, the CV 9040C - It is once again weird.
It should, in my opinion, be BR tied to the Lvkv 9040C due to their almost equality due to instead of a radar, the 9040C gets the upgraded APFSDS round, which is surprisingly good.
In general this is an overview, and wanted to know the general opinion, as from the discussions I had, a majority of people, viewers and players alike, seem to think the 9040 series is placed at a wrong BR.
