IMO the ME-262 A1-a/U1 struggles even more, it gets an extra pair of 20mm but its 7.3…
Doesn’t it also get the pair of mk-103s?
The Me 262 A-1a/U1’s multiple nose armament, compared to the regular Me 262 A-1’s regular 4 x M.K. 108 30mm cannons, is actually pretty good. Sure, the plane is a bit heavier as a result, but the Me 262 A-1a/U1’s combined firepower allows overall aiming with it to be ALOT easier, especially with the higher velocity M.K. 103 30mm and M.G. 151 20mm for less overkill and better ammo conservation.
I’d say more of a 6.7 w interceptor spawn. or 6.3
Even though the Me-262 is inferior in literally every metric to vehicles of the same BR like the P-80?
Sure it has much better armament but the thing is, your constantly facing MiG-15’s and F86’s at 7.3. If it already struggles heavily against it’s BR “contemporaries” i.e SU11 or Meteor F Mk 3, how is it supposed to effectively fight planes with a MUCH better flight performance? Imo the only thing the U1 is good at is going in and out of furballs, destroying slow or distracted opponents or headon’ing noobs that decide to even headon in the first place. In other words, it doesn’t have alot going for it to even be considered an average plane because at the BR bracket it’s placed in, it’s just horrible. Tbh BR changes wouldn’t be as effective as decompressing the entire 6.0-8.3 ARB bracket.
Other early jets are also much lower. P-59 dives quite fast and has even better armament than these slow 30mm guns. Strikemaster can be abused alot in ARB and GRB, also very low BR. Yak15, no words. They’re all rather low BRed. But as soon as its an Arado or Me jet, the BR gets irrationally high. Despite very weak acceleration and very poor armament. Arado just three bomb hardpoints and the Me 262 with just very unsuited 30mm guns. Top Spitfires and Mustangs have no issues to beat them in ARB and GRB.
id say lowest it should got is 6.7 no 5.3 is gonna catch that the better option is decompressing this rank as the meteor MK-3 is just better than the 262 and its only .3 higher same with the F2H-2
You still don’t get it:
Speed advantage is irrelevant if you cant bring guns on target and your shells need 1-2 working days to arrive. A properly flown He 162 is just 5% slower and sits at 6.0 - no 5.0 can catch it - so where is the outcry?
Your logic makes zero sense as the whole idea is that aircraft become faster with increasing BRs - and top speed gaps exist for ages also the other way around. Just try to catch a BR 3.7 P-47 above 6 km with any JP fighter below BR 5.7…
It’s really feeling itself at its current BR and due to its overwhelming armament it will stay at its current BR.
Anyone remember that?
Anyway, 6.7 would be fine. At least in ground RB to help scare away all the amazing CAS we see at that BR.
not really a problem if you infinte chances to BNZ them cause of said speed and they have zero counter to do anything the HE-162 is probably one the strongest 6.0 planes because of its speed its not fair at all if played right just look at they wyvern its basically what the 262 would be at 6.3
the HE-162 is basically the F104A of its tier
and the reason no one complains about it is cause no one plays it anymore just like every other 6.0 cause of JU-288 spam
- Punctuation is not your enemy😉
- The Wyverns at 5.0 are one of the easiest victims when i play the 4.3 FR-1
- Your initial argument still holds no water
No, i watched enough replays (family & friends) to disagree: The relative speed advantage is way larger and the 104 has a way superior gun (mv, trajectory and effective range) combined with a hell of ammo - not even close to the 162’s performance.
No.
- The Ju 288 black whole with small 6 vs 6 lobbies vanished
- You still see them - but mostly flown by very good pilots like @RXDimA as the skill required to use them effectively is way higher than for any other aircraft at 6.0 - the average wt pilot is not able to use it correctly
- In all of my ~ 200 matches in 262s and 162s (combined) i saw a single 162 scoring 3 kills - and i baited for 2 of them for an experienced pilot with a 262
That means for 262s:
-
If you need a hell of experience to make a plane even remotely effective there is something wrong.
-
Air RB has (depending on daytime and server) lobbies filled with absolute rookies (90-95%) - meaning that everyone with a fighter experience of >10-15 days is a vet and should be able to achieve k/d ratios of 5-10:1 in case the used hardware is somehow competitive.
-
But when i (with 30k Air RB battles) struggle to play them successfully (even with the air spawn 262 A-2a at 6.7) the issue is obvious: In order to win a match you have to kill the most dangerous enemies (=the guys which outperforms you) first - and you have to keep your team alive at the same time. And this is almost impossible if you are outperformed and have grenade launchers with mortar ballistics as armament.
-
The reason why this and many other threads exists is that 262s are objectively outperformed in decisive metrics (like effectiveness of guns) even at their own BRs and that the average Air RB game play of players (head-ons in infinite loops) does not work with them.
That’s why i see no advantage of your idea of 6.7 as lowest BRs as it doesn’t eliminate the core flaw (=262s are just good to kill totally oblivious rookies) and the very high partial and full uptier pressure on them as MiG 15s and F-86s pushed a hell of way superior aircraft to 7.7 , 7.3 and 7.0.
That’s why i use my 262 A-2a just for the reoccurring BP tasks (player kills with rockets <5 kg) as for everything else you have to put in way too much efforts and brainpower - not my understanding of having fun. I had just 2 or 3 matches with 3 kills in the 262: All of them achieved by strafing attacks with 950 kmp/h of the enemy forward airfield - whilst having 3-8 guys behind me trying to catch me. There is some fun doing this - but i can do this with other planes way better whilst i am not forced to play 1 vs all most of the time.
