Heavy tanks become unplayable in uptiers while medium tanks get lolpenned like light tank but don’t have mobility and artillery to make up for it. (sure it might be the problem that I play the kv1 and t34 1940 in full up tiers, but what do I know? I’m just an absolute noob)
Which heavy tanks are you talking about??
Medium tanks have artillery though???
oh I’m a noob sorry
I mean that’s barely an answer though. Your questions are fine. I can help you answer them you just have to make some clarifications so I can understand exactly what you are asking.
Did you angle today?
learn the enemy weakspot and your good.
yes I did
Kv1 and 1940s T34 struggle a little more in uptiers just as any other tank, but theyre not at all bad, as many have already said, just try to learn the weakspot of things. non-pen something in a match go check its armour values and see where you can pen it. If you cant pen it at all (which sometimes is a thing) you have to rely more on positioning and game sense which is harder to learn quickly unfortunately.
I mean how do I even pen stuff (Ican’t flank in arcade )
Thats why i don’t play arcade, so i cant really help you much with that one, arcade isn’t inherently bad but it does its job as a crutch in the beginning but will be something that holds you back if you exclusively play it.
In uptiers positioning becomes ever more important, probably more so in arcade. Try to be in spots where you have line of sight through binoculars or third-person-perspective where the enemy will typically come from or operate without being exposed to them. And then peak when you think you have a good, and importantly; safe shot. Peak corners carefully by checking them in third person first to see if there is anything there, and just generally be aware of where you are relative to the main enemy force by also checking map and chat.
lastly if you havent already go adjust sound settings:
Options > Sound > “Other players engine volume”: Turn it higher than the “Your engine volume” value, by doing this its way easier listening to things around you trying to predict their movements when you cant see them. Furthermore, on this note, a thing i dont see many people mention is that staying out of sniper view as much as you can is a huuuge underrated tip, sniper view basically mutes your volume and FOV making you completely oblivious to enemies that might be around you, so only go in it for shots or when you are at least 90% sure something is going to peak the corner your watching.
