or just removing toptier premiums would be very good but gaijin needs money dont care about players
In this game, too much depends on randomness, from which side of the map you start to how the server registers your projectile hitting an enemy. So, you can’t do anything about it! Don’t forget that among level 100 players, there are those who only play one respawn. Therefore, regardless of whether there are new or old players, you’ll often see those who leave the battle without contributing to the victory. Especially at high ranks.
I don’t think I have ever seen that stated
oh my god 12/59 is insane
Here’s my T-72B I’m also struggling lol except it was a lot worse, because I’m level 100
29% winning rare, there are some br I’m just having no idea how to play.
“Looks at in game player line up”
"It’s full of “insert preferred High Tier premium flavor vehicle of the week”
“sighs”
“2 minutes in to game checks board again, they’re all dead and have left”
“the 3 cap advantage that was had is now rapidly lost due to there literally being no team”
“Exits game Hits battle button”
“Rinse and repeat”
Thinks this is the state of top tier gaming this along with being nuked from orbit and not being able to do anything about it is depressing
yes of course, considering they actively sabotage their own team, on top of not contributing anything
there is nothing wrong about top tier premiums themselves, they need some ways to rip off players after all. the issue is that premiums fully skip any grinding or skill-gaining for anyone
multiple threads about low level players in top tier mentioned this idea
but i assume your t72 is part of an actual lineup, and maybe you only spawn this t72 when you die in your main vehicle?
i have vehicles with very low winrates because unless i am losing, i just dont spawn them
Don’t worry mate, there are plenty of those present in mid tier games as well. You can ALWAYS tell right from the off as they shoot you up from behind, barge into your vehicle and blunder on firing away at everything and nothing advertising to the other side where they are. Needless to say they don’t last very long and then leave the game. This game is ALL ABOUT CASH FOR GAIGIN, they realise that there are many many more average, mediocre and less than mediocre players than good ones…so don’t hold your breath for something to redress your problem. It ain’t happenin’.
Im lvl 100. With many k hours ingame, but my only top tier vehichle is a F16C. Ok i play all trees, and ground and air are completed up to rank 6.
But sometimes, when i go to battle with a leo2 123 and vilkas, i feel myself like a full newbie, and cant do nothing just die instantly. So i climbed the ladder, but the knowledge, from lower tiers mean nothing. Top tier is an another game.
So when someone skip the low and mid tier experince, can be good at the very fast top tier
Air top tier is not a game. Its a beep beep beep you are dead, or a beep beep aircraft destroyed full random
And ofc gaijin want to sell the overpriced premiums…
Yep. I think there should be a minimum level required for buying a toptier premium.
But ofc Gaijin wants money over fun
The whole game (all f2p) games built for the “suffer or pay” method.
This game at least 10 different “games”, with own meta tanks/planes/ships, and own game mechanics (Air Arcade, Ground Arcade, Prop RB, Early jet RB, Jet RB, Toptier air RB, WWII ground RB, Coldwar ground RB, Toptier ground RB, Naval)
Not everybody interested in all modes and gameplays, so gaijin gives the chance for buy the tanks, planes, ships for your preference.
Or grind trough whole techtrees when you want and play with this method.
Most players are adults, with full time jobs like me, not everyone have the same freetime for playing, but they have money for buy a top tier experience
Its not a bad thing
youre gonna suffer for at least 500 hours whether you jump straight into top tier or not.
some period of “preparation” for all new players should be a thing, at least to prepare for the barest basics.
for example its clear that something like “dont block or crash into teammates” isnt taught to new players, and of course it shows during gameplay.
someone with level 20 simply cannot understand top tier and shouldnt be left to ruin their teams games.
if they introduced some sort of quick “school” or tutorial for players who bought a top tier vehicle without actually grinding it, i think it would make top tier games 2x better to play. it would give new players at least some sort gamesense as opposed to just throwing them into a blender and letting them take a week worth of pure gameplay to begin to get used to it
I don’t get this part at all…
New/bad players are in both teams, as well as old/skilled players, so it’s kinda balanced (if this wold can be used about anything in this game).
In the words “ruining the game.” You mean 1 death leave because they don’t have lineups or buckups i suppose… well many old players playing 1 resp and what?? Should we forbid 1resp gameplay?? While 1resp is best way to gain mose RP and silver?? And simply research tectree faster???
Anyway What you offering???
As i said before, both team gets “sabotagers”.
Learning this game isn’t hard, all you have to do is remember few positions on maps and that it, this position mostly works for all BRs, but where problems start is ridiculous long grind and imbalance between CAS and ground. Im always playing 1 resp not because i have no lineup, because it’s pointless to spawn 2nd-3rd times with tank and i don’t have any will to play boring/useless AAs or fly planes (air mode is cool sometimes, but i don’t like air gameplay so nothing can forse me use CAS in ground battles)
Many players have lineups, but choose to leave after 1 death, i think answer is clear why.(don’t believe me, check bu yourself)
Look, elitist is gatekeeping the game.
ok, and this makes them more fun to play with?
i dont see how this affects the thing we are discussing, it only shows youre a bad teammate
elitist =/= standard average player
btw just because youre brand new to something, it doesnt mean everyone else is an elitist.
once you get “good” at the game (aka you dont suck) you will complain about players who have no business playing in a top tier team with you (not barring anyone from top tier, just saying that i dont want to play with them in my team).
there is no excuse to let level 10 players with everyone else in top tier.

ok, and this makes them more fun to play with?
Can’t forbid people play game, because you don’t like someone’s skill or game tactics… What a stupidity
So they are playing 1 spawn, how it isn’t we are discussing about… And why I’m bad teammate? Because I don’t want to give free kills to enemy spawncamper or CAS?? Strange logic you have.
you said that you always ODL, so then i assume youre a bad teammate.
if you only do it when you die to CAS or get spawncamped, then i understand it. but not like literally always after each death
driving tests IRL exist for a reason, so i think a videogame analogue should exist as well.
obviously there is no risk/consequences in a videogame, but new players still affect other players games, which is enough to warrant adding literally any form of preparation.
imagine if the NBA let a brand new basketball player play an actual match, it would be stupid.
throwing a new player into top tier is the same thing. they are simply not prepared to play the vehicles, let alone play with and against players.
even worse for air RB, new players who bought a jet have no idea how to use a radar, and often kill teammates by accident. this goes past the line of their right to play top tier, because it affects their teammates.
again, i dont want to bar new players from top tier, i just want gaijin to do anything about level 10 clueless players dragging down teams.
even a simple educative video about how to play with your team properly would help
(not to make war thunder into school with a tedious PSA video)
or simply limit low level players (like actually low level, 10-20) from the mainstream top tier matchmaker, put them in games of other new players plus some bots, etc.
Oh yeah. WOT elitism is here…
I hope the statshark ratings wil not be the toxic
I play what i want. Its a game…
“you dont suck and you want something that resembles skill based matchmaking (even though not really at all)? elitist!”
if you think telling new players how to play is elitist then go to school instead of war thunder forums
also since you brought up statshark, i went to check and was incredibly surprised to find out that you dont play top tier at all. so thanks for sharing your opinion on an issue thats specific to top tier.
and speaking of opinions on top tier, the other guy who doesnt know what elitism is either also does not play top tier at all.
and btw any of the ideas i mentioned so far wouldnt apply to anyone here (but maybe they should)
yes i dont play top tier often. Im too old for the top tier speed
I acknowledge that it is gaijin’s fault for not creating proper tutorials for new players.
And yes, it’s worth trying low tiers as well before attempting it at a top tier, ut it doesn’t really mean much, since the game is so different at higher tiers.
And of course, a profit-oriented company is never going to say, “Play for a few months first, then spend a lot of money.” Naturally, they want you to spend as much as possible right away—and if it doesn’t work out, well, that’s just too bad for you.
Since the core of the game is grinding, if you’re really looking for competitive matches, there are the tournaments. There are plenty of them every week.
