Genuinely, these are tiny rounds that weigh NOTHING and they are punching through armor they 100% shouldn’t.
Its not going to have the angled pen to pen the side of a MBT thats barely off kilter to it.
That was 55mm of Raw armor thickness, without the extreme angle.
And its NOT just this round, its rounds like the 2S38’s and such that just insane angled pen for no reason.
Meanwhile L27A1 bounces off a angled down Abrams front plate, or a T-72s lower plate.
Make it make sense.

It’s not the sabots overperforming, it’s armor underperforming.

Must be armor issue.
Go to armor analysis and see how many of protection it has at that angle.

NGL i think the TTD got shadow nerfed hard in the last update.
it genuinely isn’t even 3BM-42 proof anymore, when it used to be, and is what the tank was designed to be proof against.
The composite doesn’t even work against missiles.
Past 9.0 you either point that tank straight at the enemy or you die. 35mm side armor isn’t going to stop a damn thing, it would have to be over 60mm to do anything.
That is at a far less steep angle than What i got hit by, that penned.

Don’t know about that. Darts in the game seem to often be weaker than they would be in real life.
It looks to me pretty close to 65 degrees, also the side armor of the t-72 is also almost three times as thick as the TTB. The channel uses a pretty sophisticated sim that takes tens of hours to render, and is almost always consistent with historical documentation so it does seem decently reliable.

It’s was from 1500m, which doesn’t penetrate in game either. Historical tests conclude that around 700 yards the shell started to show partial penetration failure (even at 600 yards 2 shots failed to penetrate), and at 800 yards the accuracy of the apds was so bad they couldn’t get a proper hit on the UFP, all from U.S. Army Firing Tests conducted August 1944 by 12th U.S. Army Group at Isigny, France. So the sim seems accurate since at double that range the slug only when half way through the plate.

APFSDS is Especially designed to be most effective at angles
idk if you’ve ever seen a Cross section of an APFSDS Penetration hole on angled armour
it doesn’t matter here if the dart is high or low caliber because the Geometry and physics stay the same
Weight does matter.
Alot.
And these rounds weigh nothing.
They aren’t going to have the sheer kinetic energy to bore through armor at heavy angles like large caliber APFSDS can.

actually APFSDS Penetrates MORE armour when it’s angled than when it’s flat
