caid’s suggestion #203

i would like to suggest an interesting vehicle for France, the LOHR RPX 6000 Milan MCT

the RPX 6000 was a light armoured car developed by LOHR. member of a large family of reconnaissance and patrol vehicles, it could also carry a light ATGM turret to give them anti-tank capacity. the RPX 6000 was the main wheeled vehicle offered by LOHR with the hope to make themselves a name in the international market, the RPX 6000 revealed in 1981 was aiming for the VBL’s market. offering high mobility and light weight, it could be used on all terrain. the version we propose here is the Milan MTC. this turret offers a high firepower due to the 4x HOT ATGM launcher. this allows the vehicles to have the firepower to hunt down heavy armoured vehicles.

sadly no LOHR vehicles were ever exported. despite offering a large selection of interesting vehicles, the concurrence from Panhard, Renault, Alvis and Engesa made LOHR unable to secure any contract.

Firepower
the firepower of the RPX 6000 is based on the firepower of his MCT turret, the MCT is armed with either 2x Milan missile launchers. while the turret itself is not extraordinary, the ATGM is pretty decent. having 2 of them allows the players to have more than one chance to hit the target (so you can finish off an enemy that survives the fire hit). however, it has no stabilizer. the exact ammo load is unknown, but likely it have additional missiles stored inside. between 4 and 10 missiles is probably stored inside.

Mobility
the RPX 6000 is a highly mobile vehicle. very light, it offers an extremely high power/weight ratio that would allow it to reach very high speed and accelerate pretty fast. weighing about 5.5 tonnes, it is powered by a 180 hp engine which gives it a power/weight of 31.58 hp/ton. this is a lot higher than almost all vehicles and even higher than the R3 T20 FA-HS. this sort of power shall allow the vehicles to reach 80-90 even off-road when the ground is flat.

protection
the armour of this vehicles is not specified in any way. only said to be made of all-welded steel which allows us to guess, from the lightweight, that it only offered protection against small arms. that can be translated to a thickness of 8 to 10mm. this makes the RPX 6000 an extremely vulnerable vehicles that shall keep its distance from the enemy. the crew of 2 men is pretty small as well. there is also no evidence of smoke or any sort of active defence
