im suggesting to implement the locking differentials that the type 93 has in real life to the type 93 in game. this would greatly improve its off-road capability, as in game its differentials are open
yeah anything that had them should gettem
+1
Although it’s a bit off topic, the concept of power distribution in the differential gear is also important for tanks equipped with caterpillar tracks.
Some tanks use the power distribution rate of the differential gear to steer the tank.
The M4 Sherman series is a perfect example of this, and power distribution allows for smooth turning.
However, this also has a drawback. In principle, it cannot be diff-locked. Because of this, the historical M4 was prone to track spin on uneven ground, and would get stuck without being able to start, or would wobble from side to side instead of going straight.
Simple tanks such as the T-34 do not have differential gears and always behave like they are diff-locked.
There are also vehicles that use complex mechanisms to achieve both diff-locking and power-distributed turning.
