Lockheed YF-12A Blackbird - Worlds fastest interceptor.

Are you saying that the mig25PD dosent have rwr or cm because if you are than you’re wrong the mig25PD does and the YF12 still has ram(stealth) and speed/acceleration

The string strips provide airflow indication for wind tunnel tests.

And this too of course :)

Metaphorically at least - this is long before there were any computers powerful enough to do that analysis

putting word that i didnt said instead of doing a 2 min search with ai.

didnt said they dont have, said they didnt add the right one. exemple the in game 25 have a weaker rwr and have 30 small CMS insstead or 60 large.

Well idk about all that from I read about the dod funding is that it was expensive so its funding got cut and they perused other things

You said “Not added like cm’s and rwr” you should have said “it is improperly modeled in game as X should be X’
Also ai can be as miss informed as wkiki or social media as that literally where google ai gets info from is anything that it finds in it web either if it a gameing forum, social media, or a random website

my bad, was missing the word the correct* cms and rwr.

Funding cuts are not going to help and a symptom of changing priorities

The D-21 drone was a massive failure of a project that at best had ONE successful operational launch throughout it’s entire career, zero fully successful test launches from a blackbird/m-21 mothership, and managed to destroy the m-21 that was carrying it in it’s last attempt. The blackbird was kept in service because there weren’t enough spy satellites to cover certain areas in short enough notice before the end of the cold war. The YF-12 was cancelled because the requirement didn’t justify the cost, and personally I’m sceptical it would even work well as an interceptor considering the time and complicated procedure it took to get a blackbird in the air ready to go mach 3, versus an F-102/F-104/F-106 that could be airborne and ready to fight in 2 minutes or less + the time it took for the pilot to get to the plane.

At high altitudes it is too cold for the missile those hairs will provide some insulation at higher altitudes.

The D-21 though did do one thing right have minimal political risk though it did inspire China’s version because China did capture the wreak of one and now they have this thing The WZ-8:

Though I will remind everyone China developed the WZ-8 its not a clone but if you have a reference point you should use it. Overall the WZ-8 will be a pain for Japan and the U.S.A. but have minimal political risk in its use but the Black Bird though its years in service had lots of close calls. Making a hypersonic combat drone in the form of a WZ-8 would be interesting issue being hypersonic travel and stealth don’t work well together at this moment (sure some labs are cooking something up but we wont know until 2077 or something) as you burn off the special paint and your plane expands. Though you can pick some design concepts to mitigate the issue its better go just pick one or the other if your going 3.0 plus. Punching though the air line and rushing the tanker planes is a possibility but we have only seen concepts. Unless things have changed but from what I have read most people are happy with mach 2.0 give or take for manned fighters.
