Why is everything that awesome having to be an event for the US?
This will single-handedly be one of the best/coolest aircraft in the whole game.
Its not a mid game item like the E100 or Obj279
I just dont get the sentiment. Itll still be in game regardless, but gatekeeping things is the point of events. Events need a rework before id agree to that
If it is not a production varient it almost always is an Event Vehicle as it shouldn’t be in the tech tree.
Well thats totally false because thats NOT how dozens upon dozens of vehicles work in this game so…
yea i also think it will be an event vehicle given it would be very bad has tech tree or squadron vehicle because its a brick like the yak 28 at war thunder game play altitude also its a pain to land
actually i was wrong its even worse the sr 71 tops out at 750-900 meanwhile the yak 28 can go 1100 so the yf 12a would be 200-350kmh slower
It would be better as a TT vehicle, It’s performance would prolly lack alot.
Interesting the Aim-47s were direct predecessors to the Aim-54s. With only 6 successful firings with a 7th failing due to gyroscopic issues which was probably when it was being mounted rather than engineering.
What are you refering to with it being slower? Sea level speeds?
Yea or “close’” to it you need to go Very high before you can outspeed anything that isn’t a su25 or other slow planes

We have mach 4+ missiles ingame, it cannot outrun them, and the altitude required for it to go Mach 3 is quite high where players don’t fight.
Those are termed “integral fuel tanks” - pretty much every large airliner has them these days too, although they can use rubber and other sealants at the joints.
I have “wonderful memories” of crawling through 737-200 series wings sealing up all the joints in the tanks with PRC 1422 as an apprentice in the 1970’s!!

Again nobody flies high enough for the alts the YF-12A will “shine” at it’s top speed. Just like nobody currently flies high enough for mach 2+ combat. Mach 1.6-1.7 is normal on large enduring confrontation maps to travel around quickly when looking for enemies whilst sacrificing fuel.
mach 2 is not implemented in game as you cant surpass mach 1.99 if I remember correctly, but I’m not getting into an argument over this
Yeah, the ramjet engines don’t kick in until around about 80k feet, this thing won’t be very good.
Most top tier jets fly faster than Mach 2 and you can easily reach it at the correct altitude.
You probebly don’t fly top tier on enduring confrontation maps, it’s very easy to hit Mach 2+ if you only want to go high and fast and risk radar missiles.
I’m pretty sure there are already single player missions in game. It’d be the first you’d have to buy to play a certain mission, but technically we have (well I guess had) the Pacific and European theater bundles, that came with a plane, SL (I believe) and a few missions, but idk if you really count that, since it is no longer available
But I wouldn’t mind seeing it in game🙂
