That could also be an option. But I would do it differently (I love historically accurate things): F-14B with folder in F-14A and add the AIM-9M to the B variant. Then add the F-14D after the folder. After that the F/A-18C.

Yes to all of that, but the Legacy Hornet probably best belongs in the F-15 line as they were intended to replace the A-7 and F-4, also serving as a compliment to the Tomcat. Super Hornets were the eventual replacement for Tomcats.

Giving the F-14A an AIM-9L only makes it equivalent to the Iranian model.
Also, at this time, AIM-54 still not have performance that should have irl, so moving to 12.3BR is not a good idea in light of future fixes.

F-14B is fine with its current loadout, 9Ms would move it even higher.

Move the IRAF up instead and decompress too.
Facing ARH missiles sucks so much if you don’t have any because it allows the better plane to force you into a defensive position.
We can receive an F-14A (Late) for that.
The problem is that the current US F-14A is not as competitive as the IRIAF model.
It really depending of years but, the F-14As around 2000-2004 is not that much different from the F-14B, except for the engines.
While I understand that the date the vehicle was built or modified doesn’t necessarily correspond to the armament it can receive in the game, it would be very weird if F-14As around 2000-2004 doesn’t gets AIM-9Ms.
How so? It is 13.0 the AIM-9M is already on the F-15A and AV8B+. Hell even if it goes up highest BR is 13.7 so what 9Ms make it 13.3? big whoop.

and it can carry aim120. i can’t see any reason to put f14B at 13.3 with aim-9m
And again… it’s still a subsonic, and its gonna be firing those AIM120s at low speed and low altitude when compared to literally anything else.
Because then you’d complain your AIM-54Cs can’t compete against the AIM120s you’ll invariably face, thus repeat the current situation but asking for AIM120s on F-14B because that’s what happened last time too

well if irl it can carry AIM120 it should get AIM120 in game too. its already fighting with fox3 and irrcm missiles with outdated missiles

-F-14D exists and if added, should be with 9Ms and 120s so you can go play that instead of asking for the perfectly fine 14B to be moved up because of a missile that doesn’t belong on it

Honesly, I would like to see buff AIM-54s as historical level instead getting AMRAAMs.
It is still not “dogfight missiles” but, would be more useful for A2A kills.
Is it really gonna matter? It’s already fighting with F-15E. Give it AIM9m so It has a chance to win at close range.
