The F-14B should get the AIM-9M´s. There were topics from mid April were they discussed if it would fit into the battlerating. Some months after that there were the battlerating-changes and the F-14B was moved to 13.0 (RB). In order to revive the F-14B and make it playable again, Gaijin should add the AIM-9M. The Tomcat isn’t that good anymore especially with the introduction of Fox 3s and Fakour missiles. In 13.0 you‘ll face aircrafts with 8 fox 3‘s. With the AIM-7M it is not really fair if you are against 4.5 gen fighters.
I would prefer that it keeps it’s current loadout and takes a BR reduction.
The F-14D can be introduced before the Hornet and can be given the 9M and AMRAAM (It was tested on the airframe successfully but was never cleared due to a bunch monetary and political reasons.)
That could also be an option. But I would do it differently (I love historically accurate things): F-14B with folder in F-14A and add the AIM-9M to the B variant. Then add the F-14D after the folder. After that the F/A-18C.
Yes to all of that, but the Legacy Hornet probably best belongs in the F-15 line as they were intended to replace the A-7 and F-4, also serving as a compliment to the Tomcat. Super Hornets were the eventual replacement for Tomcats.
The problem is that the current US F-14A is not as competitive as the IRIAF model.
It really depending of years but, the F-14As around 2000-2004 is not that much different from the F-14B, except for the engines.
While I understand that the date the vehicle was built or modified doesn’t necessarily correspond to the armament it can receive in the game, it would be very weird if F-14As around 2000-2004 doesn’t gets AIM-9Ms.
