List of "SPAA" Vehicles that should really just be Light tanks. A decent amount of nations and vehicles

It was neither a TD nor a light tank under United States classification, because we didn’t have TD as a classification. It was a gun motor carriage.
A motorized carriage that carries a gun.

It was purpose-built for the US Army’s Tank Destroyer Force as a highly mobile, turreted, self-propelled anti-tank gun aka. a tank destroyer or yes as you have said a Gun Motor Carriage. It was simply a means of moving a gun around quickly, it is not a tank and is not intended to do tank jobs, though it may be effective at some of them as required.

I don’t know what the hell people get from going around saying (I am being polite) counter-intuitive things like this.

This is awful logic. Just because it used different designation. If we go by US army designation of vehicles only M60 is Main battle tank. Other vehicles like M1 Abrams could easily be designated as Light or heavy tank because we lack designation Tank, Combat, Full tracked
M18 was there to replace M10 in tank destroyer force. It was used by tank destroyer force so I don’t know what else could it be.
