Would explain why the 2A6 FIN and 2A6 NL are missing their correct hull armor from the 2A4. I guess if they were reduced less people would play them on France (lets be real masochists will play garbage tanks just to prove they are better than other players even if the tank is horrid.) Though i do wonder what the holdup is for gaijin to add the HE-VT shell to both of the 2A6 models or maybe its just the FIN idr.
HE-VT shell?
Oh you must mean the DM11? NL can’t use it, no module. Neither does Finland iirc, they use “dumb” Israeli HE rounds.
German 2A6s irl have gotten the arming module tho, so they could get DM11 in WT.
Finland does, i had to look it up it was part of their upgrade program to modernize their 2A6 fleet. Its not HE-VT but M339
Upgrade plans started in 2016 with an actual deal going through in 2019 with the vehicles receiving the first upgrades in mid 2022. New electronics and ammo being oart of the upgrade.
Yeah my bad for calling it HE-VT, though ill need to find the one i was actually thinking of as both sweden and Finland have it for their guns.

If i had to guess gaijin likely wont accept it given their original opinion as to why the Swedish Strv 122’s don’t get M339 was because it would be unbalanced for them to have it.
I still think Germany should have gotten Dutch, Swiss, and Austrian vehicles, with exceptions if those vehicles were designed only by another country, and France should get Belgian vehicles.
I swear, if i go in Leclerc threads, I see Leopard talk, if I go in Germany threads, I see Leclerc talk
The same stuff that hold them to give the Leclercs their similar shell, they only want USA (and Russia? Don’t remember) to enjoy HE-VT type of shells on their MBTs.
Mutual love
I did find the link to the 122’s, specifically denied for balance reasons, considering after checking its just the Finnish 2A6 with M339 im not suprised it hasn’t been accepted. Though i do wonder if its why the standard German leos dont have all of their ammo.
So you are saying that Germany should have gotten the dutch 2A4, 2A5 and 2A6, which only have different MGs than the German ones, instead of just asking for a dutch skin on the German leopards.
There really would be no point for a dutch sub tree in your example, because according to your logic the dutch F-16 and AH-64 would go to the US tree and the CV9035s would go to Sweden. (meaning Germany wouldn’t get any significantly different vehicles from the Netherlands that they didn’t already have)
Tbf, i get what hes saying and i do agree. Germany realistically doesn’t need full Austrian vehicles for example. The swiss actually fill gaps for Germany, Belgium too tbf but Austria air is literally just sweden with almost every vehicle. I think its fair to want the domestic german vehicles used by those nations to bolster lineups for ground but i would personally rather want vehicles that fill gaps more than bolster already strong lineups imo. Like swiss Leo with 140mm cannon would be a great and unique addition. The Panzer 68 would also be cool but i also want unique vehicles to take priority with subtrees personally.
Exactly. I’d still like the domestic Swiss, Austrian, and Dutch vehicles to go to Germany as a subtree, mostly because it makes sense to me. The Swiss and Austrians outright speak German, and if you asked 60-70 years ago people would’ve been pretty divided on just how far the Dutch language was from being a dialect of German. Frankly, an argument could be made for Belgian stuff going to Germany too, but that’s a lot more contentious and nebulous.
That said, if the Swiss have a fully French vehicle, I wouldn’t want Germany to get that in the Swiss subtree, because it’s still French, so France should get it (assuming they don’t already have it, or that it’s a different version of what they do have). Similarly, I don’t want France to get a fully German Leopard 2 just because it’s in a Dutch or Belgian tree.
As a further addendum though, if one of these countries has an almost entirely identical vehicle to Germany, like what @_Renzo described with the Dutch Leopards, then it very well may be preferable to have it added as a skin rather than a duplicate vehicle.
What about the PZ61 as well? :( dont forget the older models of it!
Oooh good call, tbf id die if we actually got the unique Swiss tanks
Personally id love to see them, and the leopard 1a3 ,a4 and such something actually bloody intersting for once.
Sorry couldn’t hear you over the sound of gaijin adding another 10.x leopard event vehicle
Pls snail i beg just add TT no more evnt leos
Never gonna happen mate ,they realised they can get away with CnP heavy, theres still loads of leopard 1 variants, Chieftain, centurion, T95 (American “medium”) , M60 , T55 etc variants never gonna see the light of day.
Its a shame as well isnt it, like britain doesnt have a TT centurion, (not counting olifant) that can go over 35kmph xD
Just more Cr2s ,more leopards, more T80s / t90s etc etc etc xD
Well it’s a comprehensive upgrade, you’ll just have to accept that IRL it was only really worth increasing the mobility of the Centurion if you were to improve the armament and FCS while you’re at it.
I mean as in a british tank, olifant is SA, and while in the british tree, it is infact not the same as say, centurion mk11, 12 or 13.
Personally believe the olifant MK1 should be 8.7 for what it is but not the topic.
this guy has a 80mm upper front plate angled at 55 degrees but a worse 75 than the sherman. Crazy stuff
Germany really only needs the swiss.
Germany still has a decent amount of non swiss and non hungarian kf41 to add. Air needs the swiss. Naval regardless of popularity is basically over for germany, theyve got 1 more light cruiser to add, 2 more pre ww2 battleships, and 3 ww2 battleships, the bismark class and one H class project.
Russia and sweden have more prototype ifvs than germany but germany has a pretty substantial amount.
