True there is a “famous” reddit threat “disproving” the evidence by showing that every nation has the line “createsecondaryspall:false” more than “true” and many have it like russia at a 100% “false”
Yet russia is the only nation where some tanks have this line applied to more than fuel tanks and optics. So why is that and why does ingame testing show that spall vanishes on the turret basket of the T72 T80 and T90 and no new spall is created.
The T72 T80 and T90 do not create secondary spall on their internal turret armour around the Ammunition. And the contrast is very much proven by datamines. The Chinese T72 clone (ZTZ 99) creates Spall and has the exact same number of occurences of the line “createsecondaryspall” as the T72, but 2 of its lines are set to “true” while all of the T72s lines are set to “false”
The two things in a Chinese ZTZ 99 which cause spalling that do not cuase it in a T72 are the Frontal internal armour between driver and ammo and the armour around the ammo below the turret… Strange that just the russian tanks have these values set to “false”.
Ofc these two tanks are plenty different even in their exact ammo storage and so on. But Gajin never explained why russia is the only nation in which some tanks have internal armour behaving like fuel tanks and it just so happens to be a change back from when those tanks struggled heavily in the meta.
It was almost certainly applied as a slight buff and now never removed. Just like the insane russian angle pen is a leftover from when russia was underperforming
Both should be removed from all instances where they don`t apply. E.g. non fueltank internal armour and Everything but the early soviet 76mm T34 and all KV1s with the 76mm guns as those are the only guns in the game which used the ammunition on which the russian angle pen bullshit is based
We all lknow you live in an imaginary world but that statement is pure insanity. We have tens of thousands of hours of videos showing proof that your claim can never be correct. Every single day there are hours of gamplay uploaded where you can see direct hits to ammo not doing anything. Your experiences are subjective (and almost certainly not correct) as is shown by these thousands of hours of gameplay. And I could almost certainly go through your replays and find a ammo hit causing no explosion rather fast.

Reality isn’t imaginary, nor are the datamines.
I’ve only ever seen videos of tiny fragments not cooking off ammo, not direct hits to ammo.
BTW I also have thousands of hours under my belt.
Maybe instead of insulting people, maybe question WHY they are having a different experience to you rather than doubting that experience flat-out.
Ok, then i’m going to send you my replay that i sent as a bug report if you want. Direct hit and nothing. Is that enough proof for you or you’ll continue denying ?

As for your image, that’s 3 - 6 fragments on ammo from what I see, hard to know for certain.
This confirms my previous suspicion that amount of fragments matter in chance of ammo rack.
I’ve stopped being perplexed by this a few days ago.
Cause before I didn’t know of ANY potential explanation that could cause non-ammo rack situations for other players.
Now I have one, and it seems like the correct answer.
And also acknowledges that non-ammo racks happen, and explains the times I didn’t explode in my Abrams & Leopard 2 when their ammo was hit.

I understand that it’s difficult, largely cause I understand I’m ingrained in a bias that ammo cooks off when I shoot it.
I practiced in assault arcade for over 100 battles, possibly over 200 battles. I’ve researched at least 3 top MBTs just using assault arcade.
And you HAVE to ammo rack tanks in assault arcade or they will kill you.
And I can say the times I died due to no-ammo rack was because I didn’t hit the ammo. Wiffing the shot.
