About the SH-1A bombsight I come across this article in it is described the origins and functionality of the bombsight and there’s a brief mention of the Q-5 near the end and it includes images of the sight but by the way is described it sounds like the Q-5 early should have some sort of CCIP but only for bombs of course

I’m very sorry to dig out this post. However, with the continuous updating of the game, the new air defense vehicles are becoming more and more modern, such as air defense missiles/tracking radars, which seriously compress and limit the role and living space of traditional CAS between 8.0 and 9.0. Between 8.0 and 10.0 BR, you can’t even see the plane now. Traditional CAS like this is very suitable if it can give a ground sight.

Yeah the Q-5 early is kinda rough to use in the game and the Q-5A while an improvement it still has the problem of facing missiles constantly which they can be defeated but it takes a lot of skill to do it anyway

while looking through a website I come across this paragraph: Q-5IA: The original weapon aiming sight of the Q-5 was developed by No. 5311 Factory, and named as SH-1, short for She – Hong (Shoot-Bomb-1), which only had limited capability because attacks could only carried out at a fixed angle. No. 5311 Factory developed an improved version SH-1I to allow the attack to be carried out at different angles. To solve the navigation problem, the Type 205 pulse Doppler navigation radar was developed and installed. An indigenous Type 79Y4 laser rangefinder developed by No. 613 Institute was fitted.

I tried to look for the sources of the paragraph but the sources aren’t listed now according to the Chinese website the SH-1 was indeed an analog bomb sight and the paragraph seems to suggest that only worked at certain angle, maybe it was just suited for dive bombing? Which means indeed the Q-5 early should have ability to know where the bombs will hit but I’m not sure about the implementation of CCIP
