The italian Leopard 40/70 has been prevented from having it’s HE-VT round as stated by the developers in order to keep it a lower BR to fill in the gap between the M42 and the R3 T20. however after many br changes the Leopard 40/70 is the same br as the R3 T20 at 6.0. This makes the original argument invalid and so the leopard should be updated and raised in BR in order to accomodate HE-VT

Or hear me out. Stop giving SPAAs AP shells that make them the best tank destroyers in the game so that these SPAAs can settle at a fairer BR from how they perform against planes

The AP munition is required for armored props such as IL-10.
Non sense. Even an IL-2/10 is armor is easily penetrated by a 20mm explosive round fired from the ground.
AA guns use AP to destroy armored ground targets. Simple as that.
The vehicle is from the 70s or later so it would generally fight helicopters instead of WW2 props or tanks.
The only way it could compete with 8.0 SPAA is with HE-VT.

VT is incredibly powerful. The lowest VT shell is 8.0, and the WZ305 is one of the best AAs in the game. The only way you get VT shells if you would upteir it to 8.0, which would make it nearly an irrelevant vehicle.
How would that make it irrelevant, you’ve just stated HE-VT = higher BR (effectiveness). It could be likd 7.0/3 easily, it’s a single gun with way lower velocity than the WZ and less HE filler.

You have twice the fire rate so having a single gun is not a disadvantage, also they have the around the same muzzle velocity, so a full br difference for just a larger HE filler is hilarious, the 40/70 should be 7.7 minimun with he/vt, also the 40mm is far more easy to aim

VT shells kill in single hits. Hitting twice is often overkill. Without standoff munitions on planes it would utterly dominate anything its its br range. Hell, i use The Type 99 and Bkan as AA and i’m able to reliably hit planes thanks to VT shells.

its always better to use HE against aircraft even when fighting the most armored planes since their armor is only for stopping machine gun fire to the fuselage

holy moly you better load AP shells for this one, infact actually SPAAs should all have small diameter HEAT shells to deal with these nightmares… how could gaijin let something like this exist in the game smh my head, literally unkillable.
