Leopard 2A8

Thats so fascinating! I never knew that KMW/KNDS gave Israel a production licence.
Btw… You have a source for us to educate ourselves… right?

I assumed it was supposed to be Norwegian or something and making a basic search seems to indicate that, but that being said having any Nordic countries vehicles in any other country besides Sweeden make less than 0 sense because it is already destined to become a Nordic tree with Sweeden at the forefront of it. This is not to mention they already said a production model should go to Sweeden which begs the question of why the prototype even needs to be added to Isreal. Similar to what I stated earlier this year in relation to the 130mm testbed based on the Challenger 2 how while I don’t think it needs to be added that the vehicle should not have the right to go the nation it is from. The whole point I made back then was how if it were added it would go to Germany and not Britian as it uses a German turret with a German gun using a British hull as the base vehicle. In that I also mention to go by that logic Britian should not have the Vicker Mark 7 since it is the exact same thing in reverse with a British turret and gun with a German hull, yet no one argued against it.

Going by that same logic having a vehicle of another nation use something that originates from another nation as a justification to add such a vehicle to that other nation makes no sense even in comparison to the 130mm Challenger testbed as the Trophy APS is a system designed by Isreal and adopted by other, and to go by that line of logic is quite stupid because still using Isreal for example, should they therefore be allowed to get every single vehicle that uses the spike missiles even if the only thing that is Israeli is those missiles, or better yet how many nations vehicles should Germany get given they are using a German 120mm gun or licenses production of one or even the rounds the Germans made. Trying to argue that because it is using some form of Trophy is quite frankly stupid in every sense of the thought of it, because it is not that simple to why a vehicle is added to a particular nation, the closest thing to that is the ITO for France which Gaijin did not just for the fact the missiles are French but the main idea was to provide France with a competitive top AA for France as Gaijin did not need any other options, however like the reason why they added the F-16AJ it did not represent gaijin changing the rules but taking exceptions in very particular circumstances that require something out of the norm. Here we are talking about main battle tanks, and Isreal still has at least another Merkava Mark 4 variant on the cards in terms of what can be added so I don’t think they need to have such questionable additions as a Norwegian Leopard 2 added to a nation who has essentially no relation to that vehicle outside one aspect which alone is stretching the whole argument as to why it should happen.

Italy, Sweden and France will get it first, like all German tanks somehow end up with them.

Italy cancrlled 2a8s they getting kf51 variants

Yeah always chilling how these countries get pumped up with foreign tech.

Cant really complain that the Worlds most exported MBTs go to multiple nations…

Well how many nations sport Abrams tanks?

In game? Just USA, Australia atm with Taiwan getting one soon I’d imagine. Not sure why you are bringing the Abrams up as it is not nearly as widely exported as leopards.

Since Australia and Taiwan are not in the game I assume you are talking IRL. There are far more than just 3 operating countries. That being said the Leopards have far more operators.

Actually no, Germany will most likely get it first then Italy, and Spain will receive it later.

I meant in game. Those 3 (plus poland i forgot) are the only operators of Abrams in game, I am aware there are more IRL. My point was that the Leopard series are widely exported tanks and it is impossible for these vehicles to be exclusive to Germany when they are used by so many countries (many of which are subtrees in different tech trees).

There are no 2A8 in Spanish and Italian armies.

Makes sense. USSR could also get an abrams now aswell technically.

Italy canceled 2a8 orders

The armor on the prototype was made with Israeli help, the FCS, the APS, some ammo, the transmition was reworked with Israeli help and also the remote-controlled machine guns.

Pfff not even true.

Pls show sources and the tank u are talking about

U got a source to back that up?

I will ask again. Pls provide a source to we can educate ourselves.

The same armor that has been present on the Leopard 2A7V since 2016 and predates Israel - German co-operation by at least half a decade? Okay, cool. Lets see you lie some more.

the FCS

Also Leopard 2A7V/HUN related.

the APS

Literally the only thing on the 2A8 NOR which has an Israeli origin, though the Germans modified it to fit their requirements better (by making it reloadable).

some ammo

HE-MP is an indigenous round, whereas DM11 HE-FS is a fully blooded German HE round developed by Rheinmetall in early 2010s. Israel had nothing to do with either.

the transmition was reworked with Israeli help

Leopard 2A7V, again. Regardless, it’s not the transmission that’s been modified, it’s the final drive that’s been replaced by the new P25.000 HD final drives from ZF Friedrichshafen (a German company) which has a new final drive ratio.

also the remote-controlled machine guns.

RCWS is Kongsberg’s. Nothing to do with Israel.

I’d love to know why you keep lying, honestly, because at this point it’s pathological.

Bro thinks Israel help German making Leopard lol
When they had nothing to do with
if he thinks that ways then all of NATO tanks that use smoothbore 120mm L/44 or L/55 should be it German TT since its German’s cannon
