Hi everyone,
I would like to suggest adding two key equipment features for the top-tier German Leopard 2A8: a Laser Warning Receiver (LWR / LWS)and a 12.7mm Browning M2HB heavy machine gun.

I aggree on the LWR, but the german Leopard 2a8 does not have an RWS since the German Goverment didnt ordered it. But it definitly should get the DM63 (DM73 would be to unbalanced for the Game i guess).

Relevant enough in the historical accuracy sense.
Germany started replacing DM53 by DM63 in 2005; and, from 2014 on, every German shell has been either DM63, or DM63A1, leaving DM73 aside.
So it’s highly off-putting to have these 2020s MBTs (2A7s and 2A8s) still using a shell that was phased out even before said tanks were even commissioned.

What harm could this possibly do? Why are you oppossing this addition? Whatever issues you may be talking about, they aren’t mutually exclusive.

dm53 is already the best round in the game, more simply isnt needed
meanwhile china, france dont even have 600mm of pen with their best darts

Everyone has agreed that DM63 would barely perform any differently from DM53, if at all, beyond insensitive filler. It’s a historical matter above all.

as far as i know germany actually ordered rws for their german 2 a8 and also ordered the 50 cal on the roof of the 2 a8. so it should be added to the german 2 a8 in war thunder.
Germany hasn’t ordered rws for the 2a8s. Just the regular mg3s

If there’s no difference, then again, what HARM would it make to add it for historical accuracy reasons?
Would someone’s cat die? Would it add 13 GB to the game file size? Would it deplete the developers resources to work on anything else?

Or Russia, unless you count that event tank.
But anyone who was playing back when the Leo2A6 was added will remember what a clown show that was, everyone else was using DM-33 equivalents and here comes DM-53 in the L/55 and Gaijin has to scramble releasing new darts and tanks for every nation in the game.
Hopefully they have the sense to not repeat that.

You think that would happen if they add like DM73 to the leo 2a8 ?
back when the Arietes were eating good with CL3143
also gaijin had to increase the reload time on the 2A6 and STRVs iirc
