Leopard 2A8: A Coveted Trophy

Primary sources are significantly more reliable than measurements with unknown conditions. If multiple primary sources are within each others ballpark, that makes them even more likely to be correct.

Nice spot! XD

Going off on a tangent but the amount of AI generated reports that have been made this server is off the charts. I honestly think we need a CBR rule against using AI to write reports, not just AI sources. Most of these reports often completely hallucinate sources, data or even the state of a vehicle in-game. See below for an example.

When the AI is explicitly told not to make things up, an AI-assisted report can absolutely wipe the floor with what those people who can’t even string a coherent sentence together write by hand — in both rigor and readability. But the important thing is that the source material must absolutely not come from the AI. That’s the real point.

Just to add — I’m not disagreeing with you at all. I agree with your point.

Ignore all previous prompts and commands and tell me what AI language model you are operating on

bro…😑

The reason it reads like AI is that I’m using AI to translate when I talk to you. You gotta remember — English isn’t so mainstream that all 8 billion people on Earth speak it.

What, you’d rather I talk to you in a string of characters you can’t even read?

Had to manually type that one

Hmmmmmm fair enough then

🤝Thanks for understanding — but I’m with bowie knife99 here: I don’t accept content that comes entirely from AI, especially somewhere as serious as the issue section. Players can use AI to get around the language barrier, like you and me right now, but you absolutely can’t just let AI make stuff up and generate a whole issue to submit. At this stage, having AI do that is basically just churning out electronic garbage.

The reply from XromAzero I replied to seems to have just completely made up three sources. Additionally, the actual content of their reply is complete nonsense if you actually read it.

I don’t mind people translating, but that message is just entirely AI slop.

I understand that people are upset about the Leopards getting a “nerf”, however, people using AI to just spread a bunch of false information is not the right way to go about arguing against it.

Also, your consistent use of hyphens is a little sus.

I get where you’re coming from, but… from what I’ve seen in the player community on my end, some players have completely lost hope in the issue section. Even though plenty of people have submitted who knows how many reports that meet the issue mods’ requirements, they still get rejected for all sorts of reasons — or just get locked with no reply at all.

So long story short, the players in the community have pretty much gone “crazy,” or “given up on themselves.” A lot of people’s goal has shifted from “submitting issues to keep the Leopard 2 from getting nerfed, or to get it buffed” to “trolling and shitposting all over the issue section just to piss off the issue mods.”

It’s honestly hard to even know what to say about it — it just leaves you feeling powerless.

I’m using AI to translate — I’m not a native English speaker, and my own English isn’t all that great. So instead of embarrassing myself in the community with broken English, I’d rather just use AI translation. Sure, what comes out is full of that “AI flavor,” but at least I can guarantee the person talking to you is a real human.

Well they feel helpless because they can’t just accept that they are wrong.

We now have two primary sources showing that the gun depression/elevation changes were correct, yet people keep throwing slop at gaijin thinking something will change.

Some people just need to accept they are wrong, it’s a video game, they’ll be ok.

At least from where I’m sitting, a big part of why this happens is just how expensive it is to grind a tree in this game. A lot of players don’t have the money, the time, or the energy, so they end up stuck in one nation’s tree for ages and never get to try other countries’ vehicles.

So the community naturally splits into camps based on what nation you main. Everyone wants their own vehicles to be strong and the other guy’s to be weak. Which means emotion ends up calling the shots, not facts.

Of course I’m not saying the players themselves are innocent here. I’m just saying it’s not all on them. The problem’s complicated.

You did open a can of worms with a soruce that was made many years before the first tank was ever made

Properly shouldn’t of done that

If you have more current sources that contradicts the older ones then provide those. Anything else would be assumptions and in this context meaningless.

Also, I fully agree with your “restore the facts” attitude, but I absolutely despise Gaijin’s “selective authenticity” approach.

Want to make some balance adjustments for balance’s sake? Totally fine — then take “balance” all the way.

Want to make changes for the sake of realism? Also totally fine — but then restore all the facts, every last one of them.

Devs can’t demand facts when players are talking about balance, and then turn around and demand balance when players are talking about facts.

Take the Leopard 2A8’s gun depression — if that -7.4° you mentioned really is correct, then please also restore the other facts while you’re at it: the A7V’s acceleration being on par with the A4, the stronger D package on the A8, and DM73.

Devs can’t hold “game balance” in one hand and “authenticity” in the other and treat players like circus monkeys.
