Leopard 2A7V / 2A7HU discussion & bugs

That’s incorrect according to the source for the speed provided above.

The aiming / tracking speed is 0.017°/s to 10°/s for the leopard 2

For the Abrams that would be 0.25mils/s to 75mils/s or about 0.014°/s to 4.5°/s

The minium speed is actually also very important as it defines how „pixel perfect“ you can get the radicle on target. On the Leo 2 this became a tiny bit worse with the electrical drive (compared to hydraulic), and made a noticeable difference to gunners.

.

That’s why I am asking @_David_Bowie how he thinks these thing will be implemented. Even the most basic values (e.g. gun accuracy) are not implemented yet.
Yet you are talking already about aim mode, turret drive acceleration, drive torque, controller inputs etc.
For 99% of the vehicles ingame, we will never have that data.

Yea stabilizers have unlimited traverse rate in game

List updated

So one more acknowledged, one more passed as a suggestion, and another one rejected…

Pretty much

Who told you this?

The electric turret drives are far more accurate than a human could ever hope to be, there is no noticeable difference except perhaps when the electro-hydraulic system isn’t properly maintained and is outside it’s correct operation pressure range.

This is a joke right?

Where is that from mate?

Old leo 2 manual… (no it’s not classified)

On a sidenote, anyone else find it hilarious that Leo 2 gets it’s gun depression limited because of the FCS limits (-9 over front and +3 over rear), but the Soviet tanks not only have their unstabilised depression angles (1 degree too much) but also get an artificial 1 degree extra because the devs decided to put the “default” position relative to the hull which is angled at 89° instead of 90…
So they essentially get 2° more gun depression than they should.

U have a link / the full document?

I second this ^^

No and I’m not sure there’s much point tbh.
I have tried reasoning with Gaijin in the past using primary sources and they have been rejected because it didn’t fit their idea of “balance”.

I just wanted to shove it under someone’s nose :)

A Leo gunner I talked to used both the hydraulic and electrical system said that the hydraulic system is a little bit more responsive/precise in movement and that the electrical takes getting used to. I would be surprised if they are perfectly identical (not just on paper).

Isn’t there even a procedure to use the hand pumps to „fine adjust“ if the powered system is unable to do it precisely enough?

He might think so, but the fact of the matter is that the electric turret drives are just as responsive and precise as the electro-hydraulic ones.
They should even have less backlash (hydraulic fluid is slightly compressible).
It’s just the acceleration profile that differs and it is incredibly minute, but the electro-hydraulic system will change over time and use.

There’s two limits that will be reached before that of the turret drives themselves:

  • The gunner
  • The control handles

The manual handcrank is less precise…

If we can find the source of that document we are gonna do the arguing for you

Have they decided to fix the 2a7V yet?

No, they decided to make it worse.

TDv 2350/033-10

While googling for that TDv i found another intrestings looking PDF sadly not inGerman or English
https://docer.pl/doc/8evx81v

though while looking through it it has some snipets of different TDv and gives a source for them

well good we already found multiple sources stating otherwise, which are more believeable then those, the others should be compiling them and notifiyng you.

Just pls dont jump the gun in implementing it, gajin isnt the best in fixing those mistake, like it is proven with the M735 round nerf that happend because of wrongly read documents and isnt fixed yet
