History and introduction
The Leopard 2A7+ was first shown in 2010 as a modular upgrade package which can be changed by customer wishes. It includes armor, thermal imagers, RCWS and other additions.
Qatar, which previously used the AMX-30 as their MBT, showed interest in this project and decided to order a version for their country. They signed a contract in 2013 for 62 Leopard 2A7Q (2A7+ for Qatar) tanks (which cost 1,89 billion euro) and some amount of PzH 2000 that have adaptations to hot climates.
The Qatar version of the Leopard 2A7+ become one of most expensive and upgraded version of the Leopard that can compare to even more modern versions.
The Leopard 2A7Q is equipped with the latest version of the full set of armor: Leopard 2 Improved (additional armor tower, roof protection, additional armor for chassis and mine protection), RCWS (FLW-200), side wind sensor and commander’s sight PERI RTWL. Also the most modern thermal imagers for the commander and gunner (Attica+ and Attica).
Additionally:
There’s an interface for tools such as a mineplow, minesweeper or bulldozer trench to clear roads.
Added cooling system in the turret and chassis.
Increased power - additional power generators for missions in control points (auxiliary power supply)
Communication interface for coordination with disassembled troops
Combined driver night vision device (thermal vision/image enhancement) for front and rear view (Spectus)
Improved optical electronics (day/night) for long range exploration
Digitized and multifunctional user concept
Additionally they were offered Barracuda - special coating that reduces thermal signature of vehicle.
Firepower
The Leopard 2a7Q is equipped with the 120mm smoothbore L55 cannon which can utilise a variety of ammunition.

Protection
The Leopard 2A7Q has armor comparable to the Strv 122s in game currently, with composite screens covering the turret roof and frontal hull.
