Leopard 2A6

Why has the thermal vision of the Swedish (Finland) Leopard 2A6 been so weakened, as this Leopard has the latest third-generation thermal vision, or is it a deliberate weakening of this tank by the game producer!?

Did it recieve any nerf that somehow wasnt noticed by dataminers?

No, its always had Gen 1 Gunner Gen 2 Commander. I think he means compared to IRL?

Yeah i think he means IRL as the Leos got some small upgrades including ammo and such as part of the fin modifications to them and a few other vehicles to extend service life.

@Pheonix_RX01 as well, possibly, but bug report site turned out nothing for any 2A6 having wrong thermals resolution, let alone finnish one.

so who knows lol. OP needs to specify.

Okay tbf, from what i remember the current known bits are limited but we know the upgrade allowed for HE rounds and a new FCS for the 2A6FIN, but im not sure if the specifics of the 2A6 were released. This also applied to the 2A4 IIRC

and did fins change the EMES-15 system?

Idk im not a turbo sauna enjoyer. I know bits about their stuff more so WW2 than all the modern stuff.

Ask one of the fins on the swedish discord they might know since im not well read enough to give a definitive answer unfortunately.

lol dw i dont really care, all the more reasons OP should specify what does he mean

Thermal vision is weakened at longer distances, it is terribly jagged, not like in the T-90M or other top Russian tanks, the quality is low

When this tank entered service, it was modified and the quality of thermal imaging was high, but here the game creator made it worse than in the tank production from the 1990s.

its 1st gen thermal.

2A6 has gen one therms, T90M and such use 3rd gen

Leopard 2A6s, including the Finnish ones, use advanced thermal imaging systems (often referred to as 2nd or 3rd generation).

then you have source for that, surely.

You can find information in the main directions provided by the Finnish armament that introduced this tank into its structures.

then bug report it lol.

The commander-sight (Leopard 2A5 onwards, PERI R17 A2) uses the ZEISS Ophelios 2nd generation thermal imager.

I’m not sure about the gunner-sight to be honest, as far as i know, it is the same ZEISS WBG-X unit for most Leopard 2A4, Leopard 2A5 (including the Strv 121/122’s) and Leopard 2A6 - which is also used in SPz Marder 1A3 and SpPz Luchs A2.

Leopard 2A7V uses the ATTICA third generation thermal imager.

Finnish Leopard 2A6 tanks (often designated Leopard 2A6FIN), acquired from surplus Dutch Army resources, are equipped with advanced fire control systems (FCS), including modern thermal imaging cameras.

New Sight (EMES 15): This uses a thermal imaging camera, which has been upgraded (often received for Generation 3 or modern equivalent ATTICA tanks), to utilize the effects of use.

Evidence Detection Sight (PERI R17): The commander has its own distinctive sight, also available in the thermal imaging channel, enabling “hunter-killer” operation (the commander searches for a target with thermal imaging when a new destroyer or other target is detected).

Features: The Finnish Leopard 2A6 is designed for operations in Arctic environments and features advanced optronic systems, including improved night vision.

In short: The Finnish Leopard 2A6 has a modern thermal imaging device for the gunner and commander, allowing for effective combat at night and in difficult weather conditions.

Your entire post reeks of ChatGPT.

Did you open first marketing brochure and just straight up copypaste the text there?

finish leopard 2A6s dont have ATTICA sights tho.
